First off- not trying to overstep any bounds, or force anybody to do anything- just a suggestion.

Around movie time, we all know some members will either have noxious brain farts or contract a trolling virus. And they'll post spoilers in the titles.

If somebody posts major spoilers in a thread title, perhaps it would be best to not post in the thread yourself. I know posting complaints in the thread is a really attractive idea because...well, they done fcked up, but it moves the thread back to the top where any poor sap viewing the Index will see it. Report it, and let it be swallowed alive by the 2nd Page Black Hole.

Again, just a suggestion. Please don't take it as anything else.

I think more often than not people who have seen the movie will post a spoiler in the thread just to piss people off who haven't seen it yet. I'm not that bothered in fact I'm seeing the movie no matter what. I could read an entire script/description of AOE but I will still whatch the movie as visually I think it's going to be really something to see. I think the guys of ILM will show some amazing work in the renders for AOE.

I agree though it's not fair on other members who don't want to know what happens in the film and people shouldn't post things just so it spoils things for others.

I think the mods may have a busy few weeks trying to keep a lid on the film with deleating threads that can spoil people's enjoyment.

So be aware and THINK before posting

 

Yes it's a very inconsiderate thing to do, but as nobody can stop them from doing it, we can only control what we ourselves post.

Especially if they're trolling- keeping the thread up top is exactly what they want.

 

Unfortunately, while this is a good idea indeed, there is no possible way to stop the internet. Whatever you do, someone somewhere just so happens to not see your post, and yet they all spam and comment on a spoilery thread title thread.... Sorry, but this might not work even with the best of help.

Nice idea Ms. Waffles, Ms. But people will do this regardless, BECAUSE we don't want them to. It makes no odds to me as I don't really feel like the movie is spoilt if I know what's going to happen. I do feel for everyone who does though. Months worth of anticipation and excitement, waiting to see it on the big screen... ruined by some inconsiderate child who wants to piss everyone off.

 

I don't think he is telling the truth either. He just named the most obvious characters and threw in that

As said before- the only thing you can control is what you yourself post. You can't stop the internet, but you can choose how you respond to it.

Again for good measure- this wasn't posted in the spirit of telling anybody what to do. Just a suggestion.

Seriously though I've been trying to stay away from TFW but I've been checking in for the botcon updates and have been taking chances to peak at the movie forum. I've been lucky but I'm not going to chance it anymore. The best advice I can give is take an absence from TFW until you've seen the movie and stay away from the comments section on youtube videos with the trailers/spots
