You know why this is, right? No sarcasm or snark meant.

Honestly? I think most people would be happy that IDW2 crashed. I wouldn't, as I think it's doing some interesting stuff, but I know of more than a few folks on this board and other places that seem to be rooting for its demise. I would rather they do a bit of a course correction and get someone to write with Ruckley to help give his story a bit more action (something it desperately needs). I think throwing in some more action into the book could go a long way to fix the problems with this current run.

Be interesting to see if having the second series makes a difference. One of the things IDWv1 had most of the time was two titles running at a go. Whether that was a regular and a mini, two on-goings, whatever. If one book wasn't doing it for you there was probably something else (even if only for the short-term). Dreamwave jokes aside, they quickly started running several things at once too --- if you weren't grokking onto the "new G1" series, Furman was doing War Within. There's no question this shit has taken too long to get rolling (bawk bawk bawk in b4 all the 'BUT BUT SLOW BURN', this is not doing it *successfully* or executing well) despite some great ideas. But there's also no alternative at the moment. Maybe the Construction arc and whatever comes after will be a lot more fun!

Anyway ultimately if IDW goes, there will be other Transformers comics.

Thats the issue for me. This reads as a novel. Ok, fine. But novels don’t necessarily translate well in comic form. We’ve been fortunate to a point that this has been bi-weekly, but what happens when it goes monthly? I mean, I guess we will see what Galaxies does.

    "It reads better in trade."

Than write a proper graphic novel.

    This, so much.
Honestly Hasbro could skip the middleman and just hire writers and artists and make their own comics. Could be digital only since hardly anyone buys prints anymore. That way they could focus on telling stories instead of generating interest via cliffhangers and fakout kills.

I was sad when Dreamwave closed suddenly but IDW2 was a mistake from the start. Should never have happened. IDW1 should have continued past Lost Light and Optimus Prime even if Ruckley was writing the only Transformers book. Ten issues in and so far there has been no benefits to completely scrapping the previous continuity and starting completely new.

How I want this book to continue is for James Roberts to return to write more issues of Lost Light and have IDW2 be an alternate universe that the Lost Light arrives in and is thrown into disruption by Rodimus and the other Lost Light crew.

But yes, I know that won’t happen.

But it’s not interesting. A summary of events can make it sound interesting but actually reading the book is a tedious chore. There’s absolutely zero charm or fun to be had here. The characters we know and love for their personalities have none in this book.

This book is driving away IDW1 readers and turning off potential newcomers. The only way the problems of IDW2 can be fixed is to bring back Roberts and/or Barber.

I've only read chunks of the first IDW run, but I can honestly say that there was never back to back issues where nothing happened. This current go round has been a bunch of nothing with the occasional something. I'm afraid that by the time the really interesting stuff is about to come IDW will pull the plug because the book has reached cancellation numbers

The problem is it's nothing but talking heads, and while that was alright for the first few issues, it now feels like being on the bad end of a colonoscopy after taco night.

I do think an injection of action would help the lackluster book. ANYTHING would be better than what we're currently getting.

Poor quality comics do tend to cause that reaction.

Personally, I can't stand when someone has an opinion on something that doesn't agree with my particular belief. I just want to see my opinion echoed from everyone I speak to at all times.

I know, right? I wish the comics didn't suck so people would be more happy about them.

    Yeah but it's funny.

Especially if he's a good dancer and goes buck-wild on that shit.

Tough to talk positively about a series that has (IMO) disappointed greatly.
When the only highlight (for me) in 9 issues has been the appearance of Sixshot, that's not good, man!

Do you mean a comic with heroism and sacrifice involving autobots and decepticons? pshaw! I want to spend $4 on 5 pages worth of content spread out over 20 pages. I want to finish reading my Transformers comic in 5 minutes.

At least the Transformers actually transform in this comic. I also like this version of cyclonus. Many vets are haunted by their memories and ghosts. This seems to bring awareness to how many of our vets are suffering. And I will move heaven and earth to get that guido guidi cover on issue 11.

I'll be down with that to save this worthless storyline.
