What if IDW made more Transformers titles, and expanded the world? So far the only characters who got solo series were Bumblebee, Windblade, Drift and Ironhide. I want more.

• Shockwave: Follows his exploits to become Decepticon leader, and we see the world through an emotionless husk with inner monologues.
• Sideswipe and Sunstreaker: Follows the 2 brothers on their misadventures. We rarely see them in fiction together, despite them being brothers.
• Whirl and Roadbuster: A Cable and Deadpool type series.
• A Jazz or Blaster series: One of the two enter a 1980's America, and learn to appreciate earth's culture.
• Combaticons: I really want to see a team series.
• Aerialbots: Again, team series. Just combiners in general.
• Dinobots: Another team series.
• Spotlight (Ongoing): A monthly series that returns to giving unpopular characters screentime.
• Swerve's Bar: A comedy series, for shits and giggles.
• Nightbeat: Best detective.
• Punch/Counterpunch: Identity disorder.

Who would you like to see get a solo series?

The Seekers. And not only the main trine. All of them (Red Wing, Sunstorm etc. etc.).

 

Snap Trap in a horror-based story. See what makes him the butcher of the bogs.

 

Only if he tracks down and kills promiscuous aliens at summer camp just for shits.

 

Probably dudes that already fell into protagonist-like roles in the past.

Hot Rod, Springer, Arcee, Bumblebee, Ratchet and Cheetor come to mind. Bulkhead as well, actually. I’d list Optimus and Windblade but we kind of already got that. In terms of villains Starscream could obviously run his own book, Blackarachnia too.

 

Wheelie. Specifically, the Japanese Headmasters version of Wheelie.

"Wheelie say fry friends today!" could be a key tagline, and the comic could chronicle Wheelie's life among the Autobots as a twisted sociopathic serial killer and emotional manipulator of the weak and mentally deficient (aka Daniel).

 

Punch / Counterpunch's life as a spy behind enemy lines and all the psychological damage that entails. Nightbeat going on various mystery solving adventures with Siren. I think it'd be kinda cool to have someone like Rung (as long as he's not literally god or some other bollocks) or Scrounge as the main character in a story, being characters that aren't warriors and having to utilize stealth and help from others when in battle. Crosscut and Road Rage going on journeys to other alien civilizations and trying to make good first contact. Devcon could be a great protagonist for a story about Bounty Hunters in TF's lore.

Sideways being Sideways. There's lots of great candidates if you look into TF's vast library of characters.

 

Wheelie IS a Robotic Dexter IN Headmasters: Master of Heads - a 6 part limited series by Dynamite Entertainment, the same bastards that brought you The Boys.

 

Galvatron: Isolated from the war for Cybertron, Galvatron stands supreme as a warlord on a faraway world, having taken command of a rogue group of Decepticons and reorganized them into his own private army. Galvatron runs a crime syndicate in which his men carry out acts for alien clients. His subordinates, though curious of their leader's past, do not dare question him out of fear of his immense power. After being contacted by an alien client who has connections to his origins, Galvatron begins to discover bits and pieces of his past, leading him to a far more sinister secret.

I've been working on a Galvatron story for a bit, with this being a very vague/not particularly well written synopsis. Let me at it, IDW. Four issues is all I'll need. The fandom needs more Galvatron.

Nightbeat for me is number 1; it's just too obvious with his detective angle how well he works as a serialized character.

The Throttlebots: I have a soft spot for this group and the idea of them as traveling adventurers works well.

Jazz and Cliffjumper: Kind of a buddy-cop buddy-hero adventure serial

Blaster and Bumblebee (or Goldbug) in a callback to the Marvel continuity

Megatron - although it's sort of been done.

The Combaticons as mercenaries for hire - similar to what was shown in the North Korea storyline in IDW

The series 3 minibots (with Hubcap as the main character)

Springer and Arcee because d'uh

The Junkions could make for an offbeat series

Generation 2 - with Laser Optimus Prime, Sideswipe, Jazz, Inferno, Grimlock, Rapido (maybe Skram) - Transformers meets X-Force

 

Only if they're re purposed as police officers in the same vein of the most 80'sist of 80's cop action shows ever.

 

Starscream - A comic based around his tenure as second-in-command of the Decepticons and leader of the Seekers, his various attempts to usurp Megatron and foiling attempts from his own underlings to usurp him.

Blaster - He spends his days during the war as an Autobot rebel who protects the weak from the Decepticons and his nights as a breakdancing radio host. He also hangs out with Autobot Cassettes like Rewind and Rosanna. (It always bugged me how Blaster and Rewind never interacted in MTMTE/LL)

 

Personally I would love to see a series following any of the following,

• Grimlock
• Thundercracker
• Impactor
• Sixshot

The reason I chose these particular four is because each of them has a tendency to leave their respective faction for a time or go neutral. For once I'd like to just read a story of a character or a team of characters going off and doing work outside of the war. Maybe becoming guns for hire or bounty hunters. It's a big universe and there are other Cybertronian worlds out there who are probably looking for ex-soldiers to take care of some local problems or maybe pirates, gangs, etc.Skies the limit. I'm just taking inspiration from my other favorite sci-fi series which have a more adventurous and character driven feeling to them.

 

Tech Specs Prowl. He's basically Data from Star Trek.

Kick Off during his time as a gladiator in the Polyhex prison camp.

A series following the line of Ultra Magnuses who replaced the original in IDW. He's the Autobot equivalent of The Phantom.

I would love to see:
-Ultra Magnus: Pick up where Dreamwave left off with him being the white Magnus robot cab w/ Prime as seen in the Dreamwave Datatrack. Not the Robert's cosplay MAmbus garbage concept (at least to me that's how I felt). *thank goodness for Don Figueroa IDW UM/ pre-Robert MTMTE* Would definitely love to see the Prime and UM friendship explore a little bit more to the point Prime would entrust him with the Matrix of leadership in TFTM and put him back in charge of Cybertron in S4 Rebirth before head off to Nubulon.
-S3 Movie bots involve the core cast of UM, Springer, Kup, Hot Rod, Arcee, Blurr, and maybe Wheelie.
-Aerialbots
-Punch/Counter Punch

 

I'd like to see IDW Springer get his own series: especially since he went into the past after Requiem of the Wreckers (I think that's the title).

In fact, that could be IDW's logic for doing this new series: Springer did try to prevent the war, and this timeline happened!

The Shockwave one is also a good one: if it were an animated series, get Steven Blum to do his voice again, and let him go into serious exposition (kind of like the original MacGyver monologues and voiceovers, explaining his logic and what he's doing and why).

 

The seekers seems like an excellent idea. Maybe a comedy series about how stuff in the Decepticon army works.

The Wreckers getting an ongoing is an awesome idea. More war stories, thank you.

Enough with the Primes, Bees, Megs and the ScreamingStars, give us more of other characters. A comic about Prowl would be cool, though I don't think people might like the idea of it, it would actually be cool to have a series where Prowl overcomes obstacles with his smarts, while pursuing his secret political agenda. Basically a political thriller.

The Dinobots would be great too.
