IDW Publishing has added a new feature to their site. It's called Art Du Jour and will feature new artwork Monday - Friday. Today they have added a fuly inked page from Transformers Infiltration #4 by EJ Su. Check it out Here.

This isn't meant to sound rude, but I don't think it matters whether or not JunkionExchange can draw. It's EJ's art that was criticized.

I have the exact opposite reaction. I like it. 

 

I'd like him to even point out better TF art. We haven't had bots & fleshies drawn this well since William Johnson. Not to mention his strong storytelling style.

EJ's easily in my top five of TF artists, along with Johnson, Guido, Don & Dante Fugate.

 

*Dammit* that's another thing I've written that I've now seen in this comic >< About a week before I got Infiltration #1, I was writing a first chapter of an Alternators fic I had been planning... and had the bots based in a shuttle underwater, and my ideas for it that I was planning ended up looking like the one in #1... and I've also been discussing making my Alt Bumbles a femmebot since it hasn't been done before (that I knew of)... heh. Either great minds think alike, or this is yet another thing I love that's gonna echo thoughts I've written down... the last one that did this to me in a big way was SG-1.

*sighs* Still love Infiltration, though.

i like the art, i don't see anything bad about it. the people are people, and from what little i've seen of the bots so far, they look awesome.

 

Isn't there a TF artist somewhere in Japan that is unemployeed right now? Let's get one of those guys to do it, I've said it before and I'll say it again, this guy's art is subpar, he shouldn't even be compared to Don, I would like to see the raw pencils too, just to see if the inker F*ed him over, because they are some thick ink lines. Really, in a bot book, the mechs (cars etc) should look like it has some precision to it, not just drawn what almost look like free hand...

 

I like it myself - a million miles away from some of the God-awful Marvel art and much, much better than Lee's fat-bots.

And who knew Bumblebee had such good taste? ^_^

 

I like Su's art much better in B&W. There's something about IDW's colouring that makes it look somewhat unprofessional...can't quite pin it down.

i dont get the hate EJ su gets. even if you dont think hes the best TF artist out there, he is still technically proficient.

stop drinking that haterade people.

 

I don't think Bumblebee is actually female himself (well technically, they shouldn't have a "sex"), its just the holo-image that he picked. Whether it was on purpose or by accident I don't know.

My only criticism is that for a comic book about robots to show a spoiler page where only humans show up is kind of underwhelming. Looking forward to the comic though.

 

If I recall Su is both the penciler and inker in the Infiltration series (I think Don does both in the BW series as well). Makes sense, considering the penciler has a very good idea how to ink his lines and the way he/she wants it appear to the reader.
Though, I do admit, Su's art looks more eye-catchy in b & w, but I still admire his skills, especially the way he sets up the panel layout.

I say give him a chance until issue 3, there everyone will see his interperation of the bots. 

 

so does this mean, bumble using a high pitch voice when his holo is talking?
