You kind of missed a part of a larger story here. The upcoming possible strike by longshoreman is causing all sorts of shipping delays from car parts, food stuffs and toys.

It's one reason why combiner wars toys are slowly trickling its way into retail locations, a lot of product is shipping on the docks.

Does this effect the digital distribution too?

Apple has a good track record of 'not really giving a shit' when it comes to releases, though, on all of their store fronts (App Store, iTunes, iBooks).

There's a slight change these issues might still appear on iBooks on said day.

This is unfortunate. I hope things work out, regarding this issue.

...Since the amount and reach of comics is probably way too big for it to be viable for trucks to start driving directly from where the presses are located, or transport with planes?

I dunno..I AM just speculating as I don't work in distribution, but transporting over the water along with hundreds of other containers of content is probably the way to transport big shipments while cutting costs - not just overseas.

    Zing! ;)

Some should check an issue to see where they are printed. At one time comics were printed in Canada. Seems the dock strike would be delaying a lot of issues.

Aww maaaan, looks like it'll be a another long wait before I hit up my comic shop again then, I only go to pick up my pull-list whenever there's a new MTMTE.

Yeah, the port issues are causing havok with my company as well. If there are any Mexican fans on this site, could you press your government to expand the Ensenada port so that we can bypass this union gangster bullshit??? Come on amigos, NAFTA has been around for close to 20 years, time to really make the most of it.

This is why I hate unions. Most of those dock workers already make way more than the average wage, now they are striking for more and WE pay the price with these stupid delays.

    MY MONTHLY FIX. :mad

Hopefully though, this all can be taken care of quickly, as there are a lot of areas that cannot afford to go without stocks of food and other wares. Really, it is not the best time.

Dangit! Why now, when there's 100 plots going on in MTMTE, and I'm trying to figure out if notRID is worth my time? If these end up on iBooks earlier again, I'm gonna have to consider getting an account.

I just heard the strikes have been called off; the workers agree with you that your comic reading is the most important consideration.

Eh, a Union is basically a company that handles labour. Like other companies, they can vary in quality, I view taring unions much as I would saying "This is why I hate corportations!". It's a very broad category you're talking about, and where you don't have them, you have other problems.
