Yeah it would be. Fortunately, a lot of the CHUG figures follow the IDW styles and visa versa, but yeah having some official IDW figures would be awesome.

A lot of the Classics figure designs were used in the IDW-verse early on, the newer issues have designs that don't really have toy representations anymore. Would be neat to get some of the newer designs. I personally want to see the latest incarnation of IDW Optimus, and the crew of the Lost Light in toy form.

If they do, I would like it if they focused on the obscure characters we don't get a lot. We already have a lot of Optimus and Megatron from Prime, Movie, Fall of Cybertron and CHUG. Knight Morpher makes well known characters already, so I'd like Hasbro resources devoted to obscure Transformers.

Sadly, Hasbro will never have a line focusing on obscure characters because they'd be hard to sell. It was easier back during G1 when they commanded shelf space so easily. These days, not so much. Retailers are always pushing for better sales, so Hasbro has to make sure they have an assortment that will sell well. We'll always get a mix of popular and less popular characters, whether we like it or not.

The only IDW comics I've enjoyed are All Hail Megatron and Regeneration One, so I wouldn't be interested. I've tried to get into the new comics, but I just can't. Now if they did a comic-inspired series which included both IDW and Marvel characters, that I could get behind. I wouldn't care about the IDW interpretations, but I'd love to get Ghiaxus, Scrounge, Xaaron. TFs done in Wildman's style would be awesome too.

Seriously? What does "IDW style" mean?

    Wildman's style (Regeneration One)?
    Su's style (Infiltration/Escalation)?
    Griffith's style (Robots in Disguise)?
Milne's style (Megatron: Origin, More than Meets the Eye)?
    Figueroa's style (Stormbringer/ongoing)?
    Ramondelli's style (Autocracy)?
Roche's style (Last Stand of the Wreckers)?

If there's one thing that distinguishes IDW from Dreamwave, Marvel, Devil's Due, or any other publisher, it's that they have no consistent style.
The artists are given so much freedom that even their own work has no consistency...
Hell, a figure based on Figueroa's Optimus from the ongoing series would be completely different from Figueroa's Optimus from Stormbringer.

I much prefer artists working from existing toy designs, not the other way around.

Thats the Broadside design they've used throughout the IDW run. If anything, Assaulter looks to have taken some design cues from it...

As for the others, there have been many cases of a 'classics' design being used in the IDW books, the first being Jetfire in Stormbringer if I remember correctly (many assumed at the time the the toy was based off the comic, but it seems it was the other way around).

The only times I can think of that an IDW design has influenced the toys are Drift (for obvious reasons) and the head on Generations Blurr. and the torso of Legends G1 Megatron.

I demand the Decepticon Justice Division, and Rung.

And Swerve. I needs me a Swerve, with bar tending accessories.

i'd rather have a cyberverse set of the lost light that comes with a commander
    overlord
hidden in the basement and a legion swerve that's packed in his bar. the rest can be sold separately.
