Don was (is?) my favorite TF artist, but after reading that last issue of AHM, I really can't say I enjoy his art as much anymore. Below the neck, eh...I can dig it. But those faces. Yikes!

    He's even changed his signature...

Am I the only one who prefers the EJ Su aesthetic? Mind you, I also loved it when other artists drew in the EJ Su aesthetic, such as Don in Stormbringer and Roche in Max Dinos.

I really liked the Dreamwave styling. All the faces look the same here.

The designs are okay... they don't look so friendly. But the bodies are awesome! I like the way rodimus turned out

Hell no. You are definitely NOT the only one who prefers EJ Su's aesthetic. He and Nick Roche (who manages to take EJ's designs and make them his own without really changing them) are easily my favourite two TF artists of all time. Well, maybe behind Geoff Senior...

I appreciate the talent and effort involved, the drawing, composition and color are first rate, but....

I REALLY DISLIKE these designs! It's fusing two disparate design aesthetics that do not mix well together. I really hope they phase these designs out.

The Autobots look like Skel-etons! Evil, creepy, twisted. The faces lack appeal. The problem is the movie aesthetic of shifting facial plates has a very alien look, and the G1 designs are humanoid faces with helmets. They don't go well together IMHO. :(

Again, I appreciate the effort and talent of artists involved but I think this is a massive design clusterfrag!

Hasbro's demand to keep the movie look alive in G1 style designs is such a wasted effort...

    Hope this doesn't last....

I'll still buy them, but the art does not excite me. I really miss the Dreamwave art style, it really got and kept me excited about Transformers comics. Stormbringer was the last series I was really excited about, Don's art rocks!

I agree that the new faces really don't look that good. They bothered me in AHM #13. Don's always been one of my favorite TF artists, but I really don't like those faces. The rest looks pretty good. So I hope they do something about those faces. But I too think that E.J. Su's stuff was the best. I miss his TF art. Roche was awesome too. I am happy that the story is continuing on from the already established story though. There's a lot of questions still left un-answered. And based on parts of AHM 13 & 14 there's good stuff coming. Looks like Sunstreaker's still alive!

I'll agree with others here. I don't think the new designs look bad, but they're far from my preference. Besides the faces being skull-like, they also look largely like the same faces under different helmets. (not that that's uncommon in the G1 style, but the higher detail level makes the sameness more apparent here.)

Do like where Figueroa's new art style is going. It's still a little bit "G1 compromising the movie design, movie design compromising G1", but you can see how it will shift into its own, distinct design style the more he works with it. The faces need a little more variation, IMHO, but then perhaps he goes a bit more all-out with the Decepticons.

Wildman's line is good, be interesting if he's finally pushing further away from G1 too. Even more so if he chooses to use that rendering style for interior art, not just cover work.

I believe so and the odd thing is in the other pics he's clearly still a Viper I'm not sure if that's just a error or some hint at the story.

I personally just cant get used to the new faces even if their drawn very well

The faces are awful. I hated the design in the AHM they first appeared in. Looks like too much bayverse influence.

The rest looks killer and im sure the vehicle modes will look just as good.

My fear is WTF will he do to the Cons????
