    That could be interesting

Seeing the ideas he never got to flesh out
However, doing this 13 years later, i dunno, i heard Furman did some bad stuff when he continued the Marvel Comics with Regeneration One

Furman used most of his IDW ideas in Regeneration One, so I wouldn't really care too much to see it.

This comic's release schedule is bonkers though. Getting a preview for a comic before the last one came out hasn't really happened before for IDW, as far as I can remember. It really does seem like IDW's been struggling, not that that's much of a surprise considering most businesses and smaller publishers are struggling right now, but yeah with a comic like this it really doesn't do it any favours.

The last couple of isses in the main story haven't really been as good imo. Escape has been all good vibes with Hound being the focus, but for those who aren't reading by trades this release schedule is far from what's best for this comic.

I thought it had more to do with his ideas for Marvel G1 and the G2 comics

There was that too, but the Soundwave Blaster fight, the rematch between Omega Supreme and Monstructor, the Ultra Magnus and Galvatron fight with the pretext of Magnus somehow feeling like it would have meant something in another universe, and the tainted Matrix are all things that would have fed into IDW post revelation. From interviews it was said that Nemesis Prime would have tainted the Matrix, and having it returned to Optimus would have tainted him in turn, which is essentially what happened at the end of Regeneration One.

I think the only things Furman teased that didn't come to fruition were plans for Getaway, Liege Maximo, and Straxus apparently coming to the fore. Though Jhiaxus' role in Regen probably wasn't that far off from how Maximo would have been depicted in his IDW run.

Don’t forget all the Scorponok/Grimlock interactions where

    A) Scorponok gets a character overhaul to coincidentally be just like his IDW counterpart

    B) Scorponok and Grimlock interact as if they have some sort of significant history despite almost never interacting with each other in G1

Kiiiiind of. Not in relation to IDW's Sunstreaker/Hunter narrative, but in the sense that they were struggling to reintegrate the G1 Headmasters with their original heads. It didn't really go anywhere, but granted the Sunstreaker comic above tells you all you need to know about where Hunter's arc was originally going to go before AHM decided to be edgy in the extreme.

IDW's release schedule is a fucking joke. And it's not just Transformers, either. That poor sad excuse for a G.I.Joe run that got put out of its misery earlier this year had a release schedule of "whenever we remember it exists". It's been over seven months and we still haven't gotten to issue 4 of Transformers/Back to the Future!

I'd be surprised if we got even one of those on the 19th.

Seems that you were correct, now only Transformers issue 29 and Escape issue 3 are on the roster

I checked the new releases page for my local comic book shop, and they have Transformers 29 and 30, Escape 3 and Beast Wars 4 all listed for Wednesday. Fingers crossed....

Reminder that IDW’s release schedule is so nuts, that we’ve only just now gotten the full previews of two issues, AFTER they’ve come for half of their readers…

I just dropped all tf books. I’m out, good luck. 30 issues of idgf was bad enough. All these other series I like even less killed it

left the phase 2 hardcovers on my pull list though

Has the Galaxies run finished? I can't remember the last time I got an issue of that.
