There is a knock on your door and when you answer it there is a representative from IDW with a briefcase chained to his wrist (where do you think Brainstorm got it from?). The rep pulls out a contract to hire you to write a 6 issue miniseries for them. The only restrictions is that you can only select, at most, two characters that are currently main characters in other series (ie they appear at least once every 3 issues), you can only create one new character to be a main cast member, the story MUST fit their current universe, and they want you to tell something new and different from what they are doing right now. Otherwise you are allowed free reign.

What story do you tell?

I’ll start off: mine would be Transformers: Rogues and Scoundrels. Starring Lockdown, Doubledealer (yeah, he is alive… it would be covered), Drift, Arcee, and Swindle, it would be similar to Gail Simone’s Secret Six of Marvel Now’s Thunderbolts. Selected by a mysterious benefactor, the fivesome would be tasked with journeying to a derelict space station and collecting a simple crate (it isn’t that big or even made of anything special). Do that and each and every one of them will get… something. The audience doesn’t know what each will get at first, only that it is their greatest heart’s desire. Something that ensures that each will do everything in their power to get that crate to the drop point.

The only problem? Seems like everyone in the universe wants the crate and has no problem killing the five to get it... well, not just them, but blow up half a solar system, if need be.

The story would see the dysfunctional five forced to work together… not to achieve their mission but to survive the impossible.

 

I am not great writer but I would write intrepid explorers of Cybertron for other City States

 

Yeah; I always wanted to do a from soup to nuts restart taking the best of pretty much everything and telling the story of pre-war Cybertron on up. The literal beginning of the whole thing. Trying to streamline certain elements and expound upon others. Years and years worth of stories before they ever even thought of going to Earth. I felt like there was a lot there to mine...

But we have James now, so you don't need the likes of me.  

 

Nearly the same idea as you. Lockdown and a group of outlaws travel the galaxy taking jobs, collecting bounties and generally acting like scumbags.

 

Optimus Prime goes around on Earth collecting faces so that he can collect enough to revive Bumblebee, with an inexplicable change to Movie-style designs for both. Also they only appear for 6 of the pages each issue, with the rest about humans doing human things and fart jokes. Then the last issue has a Metrotitan on Earth found and a bunch of non-Primax universe native characters appear and this is never explained or touched upon again.

 

Dinobots series!

 

Comis series with Swindle as a main character, flying across the galaxy and doing his stuff. Each issue would be a self-contained story about his business. Each one would be about the different deal/people cheated.

Two:

A six-issue miniseries composed of six spotlights collectively titled 'The Forgotten' with the Spotlight being blacked out as if it is broken.

A six-issue Caminus miniseries which introduces a shitload of new female transformers and old faces when a renegade branch of the galactic council wants the colony razed, even if it means they're going to be blacklisted among their own kind.

 

A regular series about life in the city of Metroplex.

Every issue focuses on a different denizen of the city. The new characters for the series are Bontotron & Gonzotron. Both of em are ne'er do well, obnoxious & annoying ppl. One is a former con & the other is former bot. They served aa both protagonist & antagonist in the series.

 

I'd create a series that focuses on Lockdown and various bounties but taken from the perspective of the bounties as they try to survive or escape.

 

Optimus gets pissed and just starts cutting faces off of everyone.

I'd write about the origin of the titans....although i gotta say im pretty talentless  

 

I´d first explain Star Saber´s evilness in the issue he appeared in by him being brainwashed or something and then recast him as the glorious hero he originally was... I might do a take on the whole Victory roster of characters, but without cuteish jokes by/about the Dinoforce.

 

Adventures of Hot Rod

 

The beginning of the great war of cybertron... Follow that crappy little planet where Rattrap was stuck on and introduce some of the other beast wars characters. May introduce something involving the primal vanguard with Delta Magnus.

A two part mini series about the consolidation of the thirteen tribes. One done from the Victors perspective... Galvatron and Nova Prime. The other done from the losers perspective... the conquered peasants. The first hints of/allusions to Unicron would be done here... with Megatronus somehow being transformed into the fallen as a highly powerful and almost unstoppable force. The Fallen kills Prima and then things for Nova get bloody... as in order to unite the tribes against the fallen he has to destroy resistance to his rule among the remaining tribes. Deals with lesser evils are made by those who view themselves as saints. Political corruption is shown as being made through subtle and often quick/hasty decisions, the outcome and consequences of which is handled in the second part following the peasants... some of which survive to become part of Cybertron's "golden age of order."
Artwork for either's perspective would be done radically different. Nova's would be done in the marvel style of the annuals which included Nova a few years back... the peasants would be distinctive from that to set the tone.
