    Cut all losses.
Take a year. Solicit and aggregate new G1 centric ideas.
One and done per month: no more writing for the trades
    Fuman: editor
    Roberts / Roche: writers
Milne chained to a desk on art duties.

Self contained monthly stories cannot be stressed enough. Writing for the trades is literally killing comics.

Man this art for BW will just never look good, sorry.
Bit late to be just randomly throwing in characters like Tigatron, Airrazor and Inferno without any introduction. Also I guess in this version Tigatron is natural and peaceful like a wild animal not because of his personality but because the asian frying pans (Vok) messed with his brain.

It's seriously awesome to see Senior still doing TF artwork, and damn he's still got it.

Yeah, I've said it before but I can't get into these comics because the art is kind of amateurish IMO. Lots of stilted posing, static camera angles, and blank or under detailed backgrounds. It feels like the artist is drawing characters but not drawing a scene.

Check out Inferno, serving floating space tikkis.
Can't argue he hasn't moved on up in the world.
Although, I wonder, how long before Megs sinks
his claws in & persuades Mr. Rock n' Roll here to
    start calling him "royalty" instead.

I wish we would get the 3rd BW Cartoon. May be we would find out more about the Vok.

Don't want to jump to conclusions, but this latest BW arc has big "we're losing the license soon, so bring in all the remaining fan-favourites and wrap this up ASAP" energy

They're basically having to go to the end game of a series that had a longer plan.

Well just another thread bashing each other over things you like/dislike. Is this a Transformers board or professional wrestling board?

Not sure anyone remembers, but originally this series was only supposed to go 12 issues. I don't mind seeing a few extra issues to flesh out more of the intended story. It doesn't feel like a rush to me.

I'm laughing at this comment because I couldn't believe that I agree with it.

Not sure how Milne would feel being chained to a desk though.
I would add Guido Guidi, Andrew Wildman, and Geoff Senior on art. The masterminds behind MTMTE and Lost Light would bring some kick-ass tales.

    That... That's beautiful.

And I guarantee you people'll still bitch then too.
Because 90% of this fandom are nostalgia addicts
who can't conceive of a story which isn't kissing G1's ass every step of the way.

Of course. You can't please everyone.

No one has to kiss any generation of ass, but it does seem comics which have a basis in either G1 or Beast Wars have an appreciation when there are enough nods to become invested in.

Most of us here were fans in the 1980s and are still fans because of the lasting impact Generation 1 had on our lives. Generation 1 did shape what Transformers as a whole should be after all.

It wasn’t perfect by any means. It’s easy to find flaws, but what it did right, it did very right; and is still very right even to this day.

My biggest takeaway from modern TF fiction is this: stick to your guns, ignore fan outcry, soldier on with your own vision. That's the James Roberts way. Because, the alternative is stuff like this mini series or the Netflix Trilogy. I ain't got no time for sorting through the recyclables. I'm looking ahead.

Truth. Without G1... There would be no Transformers, period.

    We'd be stuck with GoBots

I too grew up with the 80s toon. I still remember renting the movie on VHS from Blockbuster. Have the entire thing on DVD. So, I can revisit it whenever I wish. I don't need fan baiting retreads.

I agree with everything except the writers. Roche can stay to make mini series.

Everything in the above post is correct.

G1 is the canonical origin of Transformers. Every offshoot heavily references concepts that originated in G1. G1 can never be rewritten or erased no matter how hard some people try. Hasbro Pulse has a YouTube channel where you can watch every G1 episode and even IDW reprinted the Marvel issues in several different formats. I bet a lot of you can find digital versions through your local library.

Hasbro’s Generations line has steadily improved the toys based on G1 with every iteration.

G1 brought joy and entertainment to millions of kids and it will continue to do so for a long time.
