You could well be right, on both counts.

But even so, it's not the most easily discernible cover art I've ever seen.

 

Here's hoping the next BW reboot is more experimental.

So the BW ongoing ends in June. That's a shame, was hoping even with the IDW partnership ending they'd get a little more time.

 

all current transformers books are ending this summer and the license will conclude in December. I imagine the rest of the year will be last bot standing and hopefully the second wave of shattered glass and maybe some one shots

 

That'd be a great way to slip in some stuff they didn't get to in the series proper. Though I'm not expecting much of anything.

I wouldn’t either and I’m not. I’m sad this is all ending because I am very invested in these book. It was a slow start in 2019 but I really love the new IDW-verse a lot and am still amazed all the plots apparently are getting resolved. That’s good writing folks! Nothing feels rushed. Compared to say lost light that had nearly a year and half noticed and roberts just wouldn’t let anything go and that ending was a joke. Ruckley has had less then a year to to conclude this and i think he’s doing well.

beast wars however…mmm…I like the book but I’ve read Burnhams’s other works and I don’t know if it will conclude as well as G1. His writing is all over the place at times

 

It feels like exactly what happened: There were a lot of elements being put in play early and then they got cut off at the knees and didn't have enough time to resolve all of it as they'd originally planned.

 

I loved the artwork, always been a big fan of Burcham's angular style. I just wish the story hadn't been so derivative of the 90s BW show. I seriously wanted to be invested in this version, but it wearing the show on it's sleeves so much was too big a distraction.

 

It was a good idea, had they had more time. But looking back, if they had known they only had 17 issues I'm guessing they'd have done something dramatically different.

 

Right? For instance, it isn't set in stone the setting always has to be Earth. Or BW is tied into G1. It's more than possible to transplant the Maxies & Preds into a brand, spanking new playground. No Axalon & Darksyde chase, no Golden Disks, no time travel, no Vok, etc. Complete clean slate.

I would assume the shortened timeline means whatever plans Tarantulas had for Terrorsaur's corpse will be tied to the Vok using it as a vessel. Especially since I get the impression that's their plan for the Stasis Pods.
