No interest in the reboot, but always good to see more Milne art. I still dream of what the finale of Lost Light would have looked like if he had drawn it.

 

I read Vigilem and LightBright and thought a new comic was being published set in the old continuity, I should've known better  . I haven't picked up any of the new IDW comics except for the first 3 issues of the new Beast Wars run because I instantly fell in love with that fresh new style they use, and I like it so far. I just really miss the old continuity. I'd buy the hell out of some new stories set in that continuity

 

Well the Technobots at least seem to have kept their personalities somewhat.
Will never understand how Lightbright made it into some important character from a minor background cameo on TF Animated (who never even transformed). Anyway, this art style is cool. Milne seems to be channeling Don Figueroa, when I saw the Technobots page at first I assumed they are just re-releasing Stormbringer.

I don't read these, but I have to say that is a very cute and adorable cover. It may be the cutest Transformers comic cover I've ever seen.

 

It is. My kids want me to read it with them, and there's no better joy than that.

 

I like how the Technobots are based off the Takara UW toys instead of the Hasbro ones lol

 

Oh, goodness, might be the first thing in this continuity I buy since the Constructicons arc of Galaxies. The plot seems fun, and we got Milne on art?! I am so here for it. I'm loving how this sounds!!

But it also makes me wish we had a re-release of the UW Computron. At least in the Selects line.   Come on HasTak, we’re jonesing so hard.

This could almost fool me it is a prequel to Stormbringer, with the Technobots and Thunderwing and this art... but then sadly I remember who is writing it.

 

They're not going to waste a Selects slot on something they've already given their preferential treatment to, nor should they. This team was already released once and people had ample opportunity to grab them at the time, they should be focusing on doing things that aren't out there in the world, like a Dinoking Selects release since we know the tooling exists or something else along those lines. I've love a Lio Kaiser that ignores the shit core bot and does their own actual Liozak.

 

While I agree a Selects release is extremely unlikely, a simple reissue a la UW Devastator and Superion could happen. It would be a most welcome one too since Computron had the most significant differences from the CW version.

Yet as a result, Afterburner is the wrong color.
Use the Takara mould designs, sure.
But come on, IDW. At least get the color right.

 

"Wasting" a Selects spot? There's not a finite number of spots..... that's like when the Masterpiece line releases a figure and people complain that it "takes" the spot of another figure that they want more.

 

Ample time then, but it's been nearly 5 years since its release, and there are definitely people collecting now who weren't then and don't want to pay upwards of $300 for a set (if they can find one for sale in the first place). Give people another opportunity. Nothing says that a Computron release will slow down the release of a better Liokaiser or a Dinoking.
