I'm hoping this means the writers will throw caution to the wind and really cut loose!

I doubt it, but that's what I want to see happen.

I guess don't confuse that Grimlock series with the main one. It's terrible and I agree, the writer doesn't seem to get Grimlock and the series is terrible.

Ruckly however seems to be doing well and getting better and better. I feel he got burnt with the terrible art (subjective) at the beginning, not to mention the terribly decompressed world building and the shoehorned OG's. Given the rocky start it's not hard to imagine why people aren't/weren't giving it a chance. However It got good. Maybe not pre Dark Cybertron good, however certainly on par with some of the post Dark Cybertron stuff.

I've really been enjoying seeing guys like Roughstuff, Sureshot, Backstreet, Mudslinger, Treadshot and Flywheels (sure, that last one was forced in because, Siege, but still) get some airtime. Also, once we got past some of the world building and Ruckly was given some spinoff series to help speed up and flesh it all out, I don't really have any complaints.

It's going to be interesting to see how he tidies things up to try and give it a satisfying conclusion in the time afforded.

Well no, more like the writer's plans have been completely derailed and they have to wrap something up that wasn't really intended to be wrapped up.

I think it's more that no real big battles have been seen 'on screen'. They reference some stuff happening in the background but indeed it feels like some minor adventures while other people are having a war. No big sacking of Polyhex with tens of thousands of combatants etc etc

They have a whole year to pivot the story to a conclusion. Will it be their full original vision? Maybe not, but these days lot of the time writers don't even stay on a book for that long, so it should still resolve better than a lot of ongoing story arcs in comics.

Alright, so who's the new character showing up in the Feb BW issue? It's somebody who, at least in bot mode, is faster than Cheetor...or at least someone who Cheetor feels inferior to. I'm assuming it's a Predacon since the cover implies a rivalry rather than a friendship. And a new Predacon would make more sense since there's a new Maximal showing up in March (Polar Claw).

Unless it's a brand new character, any thoughts? Mach Kick came to mind but he's a Maximal and horses aren't *that* fast though in bot mode anything goes. I suppose Shadow Panther could show up.

All in favour of not letting this writer or artist follow the Transformers license to its new publisher?

They really didn’t need to go all out with Grimzilla like that but they did.

If there is one good thing about this comic, it\'s that Strika was reintroduced to the mainstream. She and Obsidian were the best part of Beast Machines, her design in this looks badass unlike the BM one, and from that one panel I can tell they pretty much got her characterization down. Hopefully we see a new toy of her in the future, maybe a retool of Siege Megatron or Legacy Bulkhead.

Wow. I just have four questions:

One, Why does the gear on Strika's right shoulder have seven teeth while the one on her left shoulder has only five?
Two, are those missile pod thingamajigs attached to her shoulders, or her collar?
Three, is subspace a thing in IDW II? That hammer she’s holding appeared, like, out of nowhere!
And four, is the reason I have to ask all of these questions because the artist had to take a nap before drawing the mass of ’Cons in panel two and forgot what she had done in panel one?

I would say that she put the hammer down prior to the first panel then picked it up for the second panel. Or a Decepticon transformed into her hammer.

    Surely that’s worth a no-prize.

What do you mean by that? She appeared before in IDW1.
