This was pointed out to me after someone posted it on 4chan, claiming it came from an auction calling it an "Action Man" playset, which we're certain is totally wrong to start with. An entire network of toy geeks on Twitter have so far failed to identify it, so I want to extend the thinktank. What we know it isn't: Ghostbusters Firehouse Police Academy Jail That Never Existed Anyway Karate Kid Dojo We also cannot identify it as any TMNT, Spider-Man, or Batman playset, and a flurry of searches on Ebay and Google Images haven't turned up anything that even looks like it.
I wish. Unfortunately since these pictures are at least third-hand and allegedly came from an auction at some point, there's no information other than what you can see.
It's only got 2 floors which is throwing me off... I don't recall an action figure line where the figures were big enough to only have 2 floors like that HAVING this kind of playset. COPS? Toxic Crusaders? Biker Mice from Mars? It doesn't look like it's from the 80's... to me it looks more 90's. Spiderman? Any of that Marvel stuff from the 90s? ALSO - it could be foreign. Or a KO of some other playset. I have no idea. I don't recall ever seeing something like that on paper or in a book or at a show or anywhere. You'd think the cargo net would give it away but I have no clue. Ask Tinkerbeee - he's a member here and knows alot of this stuff. If Jerry doesn't know, then I doubt anyone does. Good luck!
I thought it might have been C.O.P.S. or maybe even the Chuck Norris figures but couldn't find anything for those. I don't think any type of Marvel, could be DC....or maybe even secret wars even. Do you happen to know the height excatly or have another picture of it next to something for comparison?
Unfortunately those two pictures are all there are to go by. We've ruled out COPS, Biker Mice, and Crash Dummies so far too, just off the top of my head.
It looks vaguely familiar, but it's so damn generic it's hard to tell. I'm wondering if it might be from Ghostbusters (not the real Ghostbusters, but the one with the talking gorilla). I'm pretty sure they had a small toyline.
Filmation's had some mansion thing. Couldn't turn up a building like this. And regarding TMNT, I (still) have at least 90% of everything released up until 92-93, and this wasn't in there. And if it came out later, Google doesn't remember it either.
Oh boy. I'm totally surprised at how difficult this one has been. I thought someone would just drop by with a link and my curiosity would be satisfied. I'm the OP of the original thread by the way. Thanks to those out there who are as curious as I am.
Oh, okay. I never actually saw this on 4chan myself, I just took up the torch from somebody else who couldn't get anywhere IDing it.
Oh i see. Well for simplicity's sake I will repeat it here. No need to have to wade through the length of that thread again. Action Man Tower | Trade Me By the way EVB, I really must say how much I enjoy figurereviews.com. It's a good and entertaining resource.
I'm having an urge to look into X-Men stuff, but the fact that it lacks footpegs make me think it'll be a futile attempt.
I checked X-Men against Google Images last night and didn't get anywhere. But don't let that stop you if you have some more insightful idea than "X-Men playset" to try looking for. Meangreen, thanks so much! Always enjoy hearing from people who enjoy the site.
Well at this point, I'm just looking for things with similar construction & colouring. That way, we might be able to know what to search for, etc.
