    Hello, fellow board members:

Yesterday a friend brought a misterious toy he found at a used toys shop:

It's a dinosaur exosuit with electronic lighting, and has guns all around its body.
The figure inside is a monstruous humanoid, cast in yellow translucent plastic. The figure arms actually form the exosuit T-rex arms.

I have tried to find information about it to no avail. Since it's a used toy, it came without any instructions or box.

We found it funny that he is just like the titan masters Crashbash / Squeezeplay toy in that the figure's arms form the dunosaur arms.

I would appreciate any insight on the identity of this toy, thanks in advance!

No copyright info on the toy?
If there's a copyright stamp, it should give you a clue.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's some exo squad remnant.

    That actually looks incredibly familiar.

A shot of the figure inside might shed some light on things.

Looking at this, I realise I had actually a lot of the vehicles. I wonder what happened to them.

Wow, well found! Thank you a lot.
So my friend somehow got his paws on an unreleased toy from a ninetieficated version (extreeeeme!!!) of the classic Johnny Quest show, which was sitting on the shelf of a junk toy shop in Japan, like it was some GIJoe leftover vehicle. WOW, just wow.

He actually sent me more pictures to help identify the thing:

Yup, there's the copyright stamp. Now that we know this is a Jonny Quest relic, that "96HB" clearly stands for 1996 Hanna-Barbera. No idea what company the other copyright is for.

I was going to say, I think LGT is Galoob.

Does anyone else think that 17" Shadow Slayer would make an awesome Robeast stand in for one of the die cast Voltron's?

By all accounts, the toy is perfectly operational, the lighting gimmick works and the figure fits inside without problems, and can hold the guns in his left hand. He didn't come with the backbone tail accessory that can be seen in the catalog at the questworld page, we have no idea if it was lost or broken, or if it didn't even existed at all, the toy was sold as it is.

It gives insight of the level of cancelledness of this toyline, the toy was already made and ready to be sold. Even if the show was cancelled they might have earned part of the production money back by releasing them to the market.

The very same page kaijubot-uk linked says at the top that several of those toys were released in overseas markets, thus making a lot more sense how this guy was found used in Japan.
