I really think in Transformers 3 or some other point in the Movie-verse portion of the TF Universe, we should definetley see some more combiners. I think based on his size Menasor would look very cool and being made up of cars (Which are smaller than Construction vehicles, obviously) ILM might be able to create a combiner than can stand up on their hind legs.

I would so love to see a Movie-styled Menasor go up against Defensor. They seem to be similar in size. I'm guessing they would be around 50 feet max. standing up. Monstructor, while somewhat obscure, would proably be built like Devastator too. Superion would be incredibly massive but I don't think he would be brought in, seeing as a bot bigger than Devastator would also be physically unable to move, much less stand up.

I think I could whip up a bit of fan art within the week, keep you guys updated on that. Though who should I start with? Menasor or Defensor?

I dunno. I think if too many combiners are brought in then it will be like some old Godzilla movie. I think keep it at Devastator and maybe Superion and thats it. Call it a day. Later on have Omega in there.

Omega Supreme would be pretty sweet. Though I never understood the point of being both the rocket and the station it launches off from, plus the tank that circle's around it. I always thought of Omega being either a Space Shuttle or possibly a Battleship (Like half of him from his Energon appearance.)

For TF3, I prefer Menasor vs Superion.

I just want to see some big ass robots beat the shit out of each other.

i think 1 is ok. 2 if the other one if just 2 bots (ops and Skyfire)

I agree in the goidzilla thought. last thing this movie series needs is a bunch of robots running around screaming "POWER LINK!!!".

    Menasor, please.

If I had to select combiners for movie three I think I'd go with the return of Devastator (with the complexity and cost of the model it'd be a real waste not to reuse it), Menasor, and a Dinobot combiner.

Wouldn't have to be a dinosaur-like robot, though. It could always be more humanoid than Devastator (in fact, it's almost a guarantee since the design approach to the Autobots is less monstrous).

Besides, Grimlock in the movie-verse would already be a mecha Godzilla ;)

    Just a few ideas.

    Superion (Wreckers commando team/gestalt).
    Ultra Magnus - B1B Lancer. Torso/Limb connectors.
    Springer - V22 Osprey. Shoulders/back.
Powerglide - A10 Thunderbolt. Right arm with rotary cannon.
Breakaway - F35 Lightning. Left arm with missile launcher.
Mirage - F117 Nighthawk. Right leg.
Blaster - EA18G Growler. Left Leg.
Perceptor - RQ4 Global Hawk. Head.

Basically an elite team that has the mobility of being aircraft and able to respond quickly. Plus the adavantage of forming Superion when big game presents itself.
I know I'm using different characters but why not? There is already plenty of background for these guys and I always found the Arielbots to be a bit anonymous and nondescript. It also nicely ties in with the Wreckers working well as a team and so would function well as a gestalt too. And it would be huge.

    Dinotitan. (Dinobot gestalt).
Grimlock - Alien T-Rex like dinosaur. Upper Torso/head.
Sludge - Huge Sauropod like alien dinosaur. Torso/limb connectors.
Snarl - Alien spined dinosaur. Right leg.
Slag - Alien horned dinosaur. Left leg.
Slice - Alien Megaraptor dinosaur. Right arm.
Swoop - Alien flying dinosaur. Left arm.

Basically the story is that the Dinobots were sent to scout planets for the autobots to use as forward bases to take back Cybertron from and they got stranded on a planet whose only significant life form are large lizards similar but not identical to our own dinosaurs. So Grimlocks team assume their forms and sit tight. Magnus or somebody eventually answers their distress call and brings them to Earth where they keep their Dinosaur forms and feel no need to be subtle.
Their Gestalt form is chaotic and likely to do more harm than good but is extremely large and powerful. Probably a good match for a larger Devastator.

    Abominus (Insecticon gestalt monstrosity).
    Billions of tiny insecticons.
Formed by a plague of insecticons. Pretty straightfoward really. Extremely hard to take down. Can alter its form and size at will. From small bot size to a titanic kilometre tall monster. Eats bots alive.

Wow. Live action A/E/C? No thanks.

Too gimmicky. Combiners are okay, I guess. I just don't want to see the idea go overboard.
Personally, if bots are going to get bigger, Omega Supreme is the way to go. Maybe the tracked vehicle that transports the titan rockets or something.

dinobots dont need to combine since they work good as a standalone attack unit...combining them turns them into a cheep

I do want to see the idea go overboard. Firstly, we're talking about giant robots. There isnt much point in understating them. They're already outrageous.
Secondly we're talking about Michael Bay films. There has to be something to up the game in the next one.

Omega Supreme is a good idea but he isnt a gestalt (although he could be) and this thread is about ideas for Gestalts after all. The only reason for combining the Dinobots is it that it hasnt been done properly yet and it would be fresh. I'd be just as happy leaving them seperate though.
Admittedly, my other two suggestions are better ideas for Gestalts.

Although there's something about a huge Dinobot Gestalt and a 12-15 constructicon Devastator beating the living shit out of each other in primal rage that whets my appetite.

I'm loving the Abominus Insecticon idea though the more I think about it. You could have some brainchild behind them like Shockwave or Soundwave and the Insecticons swarm around him and he forms the nerve centre of the monster. Then something huge like Omega Supreme or even something truly titanic like Maximus or Metroplex has to brave the swarm thats eating him alive to get to grips with the monster at the centre and pull Shockwave/Soundwave/whoever from it.

As long as they arent Gorilla shapped Lumbering Beasts with huge Robo-Balls, all could go well.

Superion, and Menasor or Bruticus will work.

I second that idea. The sheer size of such a combiner would be awesome though.

However, it would also be nice for a group of bots, scanning an entire naval battle group, and then combining.

The aircraft carrier would form its torso, while cruisers, destroyers and subs for limbs and joints, and maybe a battleship to provide armaments around its entire body. Imagine several 16" turrets mounted on the robot's shoulders.

(P.S. I know there's no active commissioned battleship in service currently, but any scenario is possible in a movie).

Sounds like Tidal wave or something similar. It would be pretty excessive. Such a being could step on Devastator without knowing about it but, why not. I suppose only something like Maximus (as a transforming Autobot spaceship) would take him on and unless it was in the middle of a desert or something it would a disaster for any nearby humans.

Therefore, have the battle in the middle of London. :)
New York and Tokyo have had enough.

Superion vs a Decepticon combiner would be awesome. Too bad Devastator dies... But if they bring in other combines, then I have to say one thing: MAKE THEM FREAKIN' STAND UP!!!
