Hi, I've been reading this board for a while. I've really enjoyed the live action TF movies and wanted to share my ideas on how some popular characters could be introduced in the 5th installment. I'm basing this with the assumption that Michael Bay will return to direct TF5. There are a few characters that I think have a really good chance of making it into the next film: Cyclonus, Ultra Magnus, Scourge, and Outback. Based on the ending of AoE, I could see the next film opening up with Optimus on the planet Quintessa where the Quintessons have several Transformers (both Autobot and Decepticon) held as slaves. We see them working for the Quintessons and how terribly their lives suck. Ultra Magnus and Cyclonus would be two of the slaves we see. Optimus recognizes Ultra Magnus and manages to rescue him (and another Autobot, Outback, which I'll elaborate on later) but realizes there is no way he can face the Quintessons by himself. We see Magnus, Prime, & Outback escape in a stolen Quintesson ship that looks like what we saw at the beginning of AoE. The plan is for Prime, Magnus & Outback to head back to Earth and devise a plan with the other Autobots to end the Quintessons' rule over TF's. Unknown to Prime, Galvatron scanned a jet and tracked him through space to Quintessa. He recognizes Cyclonus and Scourge who have an idea that appeals to Galvatron: to plant a bomb at Quintessa's core and blow it up. They succeed and evacuate the planet before the bomb blows up. A few Quintessons either detect the their impending doom and escape, or some that are off their home world observe what happened from a distance and decide to attack the Transformers once they've formed an army. This would all be shown as the opening to the movie, perhaps a 3 or 4 minute scene. Prime and Magnus would be completely oblivious to the events on Quintessa after they leave. Galvatron would have a plan to take over the Earth in some fashion (this part I haven't thought through - maybe he steals a weapon or relic from Quintesssa) Cyclonus could be introduced as a great warrior while Scourge sends a signal for his Sweeps to rendezvous with them on Earth. Boom, we have a Decepticon army. Now, as I mentioned there would be another Autobot that Optimus rescued and going by Bay's tendency to use characters with a certain accent, I thought maybe Outback would be a likely choice because he could sport an Australian accent. Smaller Autobot that is tough but wouldn't see much more action than Que in DOtM. I'd also have Prime refer to Ultra Magnus as someone who was held in high regards on Cybertron. Once the Transformers are back on Earth, Galvatron puts his plan into action as the Quintessons show up later in the movie to destroy the Transformers and anything that gets in their way. Just wanted to share these ideas as I think they would make for a fun, enjoyable movie and are also something I think we could see from Bay and his staff.
That's a pretty damn good idea. But what about the humans? The Autobots on earth? What's their story? Who will they fight? What will they do before Optimus and Magnus arrive? This is a live action film, they need a story, it can't just be about Optimus in space until he gets to earth.
Like I said, I haven't thought of a complete and total plot. Just wanted to share how they could tie in the Autobots, Decepticons, AND Quintessons. For the humans, maybe Cade and Tessa have been hooked up with nice housing near the college she attends (they don't have to live together). Cade has been given a job working at the same university in a robotics or science department. Shane, continues to drive and is easily the most background of the human characters if he is even in the movie. If the Autobots that are still on Earth are to even have a story, perhaps the President has announced they will be harbored in America and granted amnesty provided they remain peaceful with humans. I think it'd be cool to see Crosshairs drop Cade or Tessa off at a grocery store for a simple errand and bitch about what his life has come to.
Everyones ideas seem to be from G1 Season 3+ Not many 'originals' like Tracks, Sunstreaker, Cliffjumper, from seasons 1 and 2 etc.. Good idea though. How will Cyclonus and Scourge recognise Galvatron as Megatron? Will they sense or be told?
That's fair enough. Cade working for Josh would be a good idea, maybe Crosshairs could be Shanes racecar are he cheats? But your idea for Crosshairs sounds funny. Hound could be a bodyguard for Cade and Josh, while Drift can be...Cade's car I dunno. Bee might look after Tessa at college.
I think you kind of have to go season 3ish now that Galvatron is in the picture. As for Cyclonus and Scourge recognizing him as Megatron, that's a great question. Perhaps during their rescue they'll ask if he is Megatron and he'll give a vague statement about rebuilding the Decepticon empire and they'll just know... plus, he's rescuing them so they may not care that much haha.
Crosshairs doesn't like humans. I can't see him scanning a new vehicle mode just to help Shane win some races.
Crosshairs hates humans and Hound hates Josh but likes Cade and Bee could be Tessa's car or something like that and Drift most likely be his car or his helicopter.
Hey man that was actually really good, I like how the idea of Quints keepings some TF's as slaves. Now I know what Lorenzo di Bonaventura has said, but why continue keeping Transformers on earth again? I say rewrite the script somehow to include Cybertron again, the Transformers belong on Cybertron not earth. It's been fun on earth, but just how Bay completely changed the human cast, he should completely get rid of Autobots staying on earth idea now. Wouldn't you agree?
I'd love a Cybertron/Quintessa/Charr only movie but I don't think there's ever a chance it would happen. Maybe while Prime, Magnus, & Outback are returning to Earth, they notice that Cybertron wasn't fully destroyed and looks similar to how the planet looked in G1 (you could see where war had taken a toll on the bottom left corner in most distant shots). Perhaps the movie could shift to Cybertron for the final battle.
That would make a great concept and story. It'd probably only last about half an hour since a live-action TF film demands that it be set on Earth.
Right, keep the bulk of the movie on Earth but have some scenes elsewhere as has been done in the other movies.
