One thing I really felt was missing from Age of Extinction was a little more elaboration on what actually went down between this one and Dark of the Moon. I would've LOVED a scene between Mark Wahlberg and Optimus with Optimus explaining how the humans turned on them, why they had to cut ties with Sam, Lennox, Epps, Simmons, etc. etc. Thoughts?
Agreed. But I have hope that depending on how they deal with the fifth installment that their could be more bonding time with bumblebee and the other autobots (hopefully). But I mean they said that reaccuring military characters weren't planned but shouldn't be ruled out.
- DOTM ends - Due to bad response the Autobots go into hiding as the Government announces them as evil - In the wake of Chicago KSI is born to take control of the alien weaponry and ships that crashed - KSI acquires the Megatron head - Lockdown arrives offering a bargain to find Optimus - KSI begin working on the vehicon program - KSI begins targeting all Transformers publicly saying they were all 'Decepticons' in order to gain Cybermatter - Optimus is attacked by Lockdown and KSI forcing him into hiding at a local cinema - AOE begins
Heh, I guess what I meant to say was more of a "character moment" between the Autobots and the new humans. I know that's asking a lot for a Michael Bay Transformers movie but, oh well. Still a great movie!
I see it as after DOTM there was a big time of peace, but later Attinger proposes to form his own strike team to hunt decepticons. He starts Hunting decepticons and hunts them for a good amount of time. Eventually he wants to move on to Autobots, but the problem is that if they escape they'll try and expose Attinger. Eventually Lockdown comes on to the scene leading into the partnership. Autobots are going to be successfully killing Autobots. Because of Lockdown Optimus and the others can't expose Attinger. Autobots go into hiding and leads to AoE.
Spoiler But lines in the movie say the Autobots were given protection, and the guy the President sends to talk with Attinger even asks for a photo op with Optimus Prime. Which is confusing, as the KEEP EARTH HUMAN posters have Optimus and Bee's head on them. But it seems like Optimus is still in good standing, based on the dialogue.
Eh, true - I valued that as the President saying openly he would protect them - however really doing fairly little to support either side. Remember the President would probably have to represent the view point of the population for the sake of staying in office and the view of the general population was that the Autobots were evil as shown by the propaganda posters.
