Well see, I used to care deeply about this.

... then I grew up & begun to understand mass shifting.

It'll never happen. If it were, some TF's would be huge. I mean bigger than Fort Max.

    Not pictured: Scale

Just look at those wheels. Even in the cartoons they don't give a **** about scale. Just let it go and appreciate the toys!

You ask for scale, listing a voyager prime and a scout bumblebee... If bb were scout sized, his alt mode would not be to scale. Unless hastak worked it out the same way they did it in the movie where every part of a car was used to make up the size and shape of the robot it turned into. If you want that, expect hasbro to go broke quickly all those teeny parts would not be cost effective, and youd have to deal with all the qc isues and the lawauits from all the choking hazards... The laws of physics didnt alllow for a pistol yo turn into a 20? foot robot in the 80s and ot still doesnt work today

even bigger problem is what figure to base the scale off? using Henkei Prime would mean larger figures like unicron and omega supreme would be even more unlikely to be made than they are now. I think the whole idea of a scaled toyline in transformers is flawed, iGear seems to be trying it but not everyones gonna agree their scale is right

Try Amazon. Cybertron was actually the size of a soccer ball. It was filmed with an EXTREME zoom lens.

Mass shifting was involved heavily in space bridge technology. :lol

In scale huh? I don't think you'd ever be able to transform Unicron in a day. And for $60.....it'd be really crappy quality too

The best thing to do is collect the toys you like and maybe they might be in scale.

For example, THS Convoy works rather well with Legends class

I find that my Legends class Wheelie works well with my masterpiece grimlock.

You do with what you can. There are some dissapointments like Classiscs Deluxe Galvatron should have been an ultra or voyager at the least.

However the deluxe galvatron matches the rest of my Movie deluxes.

I think a lot of people tend to hit the kneejerk panic button when they hear the term "scale accurate" because they think of it in a literal sense and then go off about how impossible it would be to achieve. Fair enough.

Personally speaking, I like to say "relative scale" since I truly do believe that it could be maintained if Hasbro put in the effort. IE: Autobot & Decepticon car characters could all fall into Deluxes, slightly larger characters like Prime, Trailbreaker, Ironhide, etc. coukd fall into Voyagers, characters like Megatron, the Seekers, Inferno, the Constructicons, etc. could fall into Ultras, very large characters like Jetfire, Shockwave, the Dinobots, Ultra Magnus, etc. could fall into Leaders, and little guys like Reflector, Soundwave minions, Beachcomber, Wheelie, etc. could fall into Scouts.

Obviously it would make collecting all these figures a lot more expensive, but I think it would be as close to perfect "relative scale" (in bot modes) as we'd ever get given the size classes we have/had to choose from. IMO anyway.

Like I said earlier, we basically get this in Bayverse, but obviously that doesn't count because it's Bayverse, lol.

As much as I'd LOVE THAT, It'll never happen. Often times the characters tyhat are big aren't popular enough to get a larger size class, although they seem to do pretty well with the Prime line as for robot-mode scale (they'll never get both modes right due to mass shifting). Even though Screamer is a deluxe, he's just a head or two taller than Bumblebee in the show, which he can pull off in toy form due to his transformation. Arcee is the only oddball so far, not counting deluxe Prime and Megs, since she's too big in BOTH modes. she's a weird size though, she's a bit too small to be a deluxe, and a bit too big to be a scout.

They did. they were called Alternators. It ran for a few years. It's gone now.

Japan replaced it with Alternity. It had a few molds. It's pretty much dead.

    Alternators were 1:24 scale.
I think the HA line is as well.

Ehh, I wouldn't say so. At least no more than any other series. Examples being TF1 Bonecrusher as a Deluxe, TF1 Blackout, ROTF Grindor & ROTF The Fallen only being Voyagers, DOTM Megatron & Shockwave only being (now smaller than normal) Voyagers, etc. As inconsistent as any other series :)

Barring the small sizes of Voyagers Lugnut & Blackout, I think Animated was generally the most size consistent series we've gotten to date. Though it looks like the Prime series will be pretty spot-on as well.

A Unicron that's in-scale to an average deluxe Autobot Car would be like, the size of a whole neighborhood
