Dunno if this would go in the main HDTV thread, so I'll make it separate for now. I'm planing on upgrading my gaming TV to a 37" HDTV. At the Wal-Mart where I work, we have them in Vizio, Samsung, and Sanyo. Vizio is the cheapest of the three, but I looked an all three seem to have the same lag time (8ms). Which one do you guys recommend? If you have another brand you like, let me know, but I'd like to try and get it at WallyWorld, as I get the discount. And would it be worth it to get a 360 Elite for the HDMI support?
I want a second one for my room, so I can watch in my "Chones"* *Chones = Underwear in Spanish Slang.
Samsung TV's have a game setting that helps with the lag a lot. At 37", an HDMI cable will offer nothing special over component cables.
Thought I was the only one who still called them that. LOL I would go with the samsung out of those three.
I was considering getting a 40" Bravia, myself, pretty soon. But you guys all seem convinced, Samsung seems to be the way to go.
I had a 42" Vizio, Speakers went in about 3 months. I was told it was to expensive to replace so I got a refund minus my taxes back. Now I have a 47" Samsung, it has a setting for damn near everything.
Well, I think of the choices he offered I would pick Samsung but I'd take a Bravia over all of those any day.
As far as I know, my Wal-Mart doesn't sell Bravias, but the site might. I'd have to check. Either way, time to start saving!
I cast my vote for Samsung. Also if you are getting a 360, and plan on downloading a lot, get the Elite. THe bigger hard drive is nice.
I have one already, I was just wondering if I should trade it up for the Elite. And Samsung seems to be the winner here. But Bravias are sold on the site, soooo....
If you have the wall space, and can make the room moderately dark (it doesn't really have to be that dark), I suggest you go the same route as me and buy an HD projector. 106" screen, baby! 37" is puny and weak. It will be comparable in costs as well.
