So I was thinkin about this at work today. Back in 1995 when Toy Story was released I, of course, wanted and owned the Buzz Lightyear action figure that was made by [I think...] Thinkway Toys. It was really cool (well, it still is =P) but I always wanted something a little more... movie accurate.

Y'know? All the bells and whistles; karate chop action, a helmet that does that-that-that WHOOSH thing, a squeaky head, longer wingspan. Basically if he could do it in the movie, I want a toy that can do.

I dunno if it's even possible or if someone's already making one, but with Toy Story 3 coming out next year (I think... lol.. soon anyway) I think it would be the PERFECT time to make a "Masterpiece" Buzz Lightyear.

Who's with me!?

Very cool idea. But I'd also want a GI Joe/MU Buzz Lightyear.

 

Back when I saw Toy Story in 1995, I was young and naive and I just ASSUMED there would be a Buzz toy that did everything it could do in the movie.

EACH FRIGGIN TIME I bought a Buzz toy, I was CONVINCED it was the one I had been waiting for.

Sigh.

If MP Buzz Lightyear came out 14 years ago, it might have been one of my favorite toys ever. I still play with my PM Prime from 1990, I still play with the G1's that haven't broken, and had I gotten an MP Buzz, I would still be playing with it.

If one were to come out now, though? I probably wouldn't buy it. The period-of-maximum-willingness is decades past.

 

man i got that big one back then with the lights and sounds, and i think we took it back cus it didnt work anymore, and they didnt have any to exchange  

 

Isn't there a new Buzz figure being released at SDCC this year? Can't recall who's putting it out, but it comes in the packaging from the movie and everything. Not sure if it has the bells and whistles though.

But yeah, would love a complete movie accurate Buzz.

I had a Buzz Lightyear action figure too! The wings would pop out and his helmet would open. That's all I remember. :/
