Was talking to a buddy of mine today about how much stress the Menasor Wars has been causing me and about while FansToys Roadking was an impressive feat of engineering by incorporating in the trailer into bot made, how happy I am currently with the XTB MotorMaster pics that dropped today.

Then it hit me like a ton of bricks, FansToys did such a great job on Roadking that they should do Ultra Magnus next!!!!!

Takara’s Magnus never really did it for me. Even at the time of his release the first time I got him into bot mode and displayed with my other MPs I wasn’t super impressed. I felt he was too big, his articulation was trash, and his joints made him a floppy mess. He hasn’t aged well over the years either.

Given that FT has released Arcee, Springer, Kup, Hot Rod and now Blur it’s definitely time to go ahead and knockout Magnus....

Unless of course they don’t have time for that

 

Next is probably out, but them doing him at some point is not out of the question. Dalianjj posted in the past about MP-22 being too big. As far as I know that is all they have said on the subject though.

 

Not a bad call, MP-22 does seem kind of cheaply made now, he could do for an improvement. I'd probably prefer a good Rodimus first though, from the current design team. I don't think anyone has done Hot Rod/Rodumus Justice yet, including FT with Hoodlum. Lot of fails with that character

 

It's been on the list of stuff people want FT to do eventually.

 

I want that too. Let’s do it.

When is Fanstoys Optimus Prime tho?

 

I'd be interested in seeing anyone else take a crack at MP Magnus. I'm really not a fan at all of what we have right now.

 

I have no doubt this will happen, but the question is when.

 

As an Ultra Magnus collector...... I'm not gonna say no.

 

Ultra Magnus could use a better toy. But when is Fanstoys gonna do Triggerhappy tho?

While I’m not opposed to a new ultra magnus. I would prefer figures that fill holes in my collection or replace bad figures. I like my mp magnus and I don’t see the need to replace him, at least not for a while

 

I like the current Magnus, I’d still be up for a FT version but let’s put it at the bottom of the list after all the announced stuff.

 

Yikes, if that’s the case I would not be looking forward to one from them....

 

I do think a better Magnus is called for than what Takara gave us, but given Fans Toys' track record with season 3 characters I'm not sure they're the ones to do it.

Why is that? You prefer Ultra Magnus at MP-22 bot scale?
I like MP-22 (or my THF knockoff version with hinged buttflap), but I do think he's too big compared with my other figures. Doesn't really scale well with Galvatron or Cyclonus, or Kup or Prime for that matter. Alt-mode is good though.

 

After Skullcruncher is released.

 

I mean, somebody has to do Magnus. The official version is a puffy marshmallow disaster. The basics are already laid out in some amazing legends sized toys. Just do that but better.

Honestly I hope they just do everything. I actually just did spreadsheet of the bots in my collection that I would consider place holders and its a surprising amount.
