I watched the original G1 cartoon when it was released and I swear I never saw Gears before the third parties started releasing figures of him. I also don't ever remember seeing Grapple either. Did anyone ever feel that they completely forgot a character?

I've become rusty of characters, but forgotten them completely? No.

    :lol

Being in only 20% of the episodes in the G1 series, with only 2 of them where he was a main character, he's kinda hard to remember.

Plus his alt mode was no where near being memorable.

Grapple was in only 8 eps. It's *probably* why he left...at least he was a lot more successful as Splinter for entire series in TMNT.

Grapple and Gears both had their own episodes, so no I didn't forget them.

Skids on the other hand, well, that guy was so in my face his Generations figure killed me.

I forgot Skids was a nobody in the G1 cartoon. I'm so used to MTMTE and the Marvel comics takes on him.

I can't say there are any characters I don't remember since I watched the cartoon and read the Marvel comics from 1984 to 1986.

You have difficulty remembering a character in a show where characters had a habit of showing up and disappearing at the drop of a hat without explanation?

The only guys that I forget appeared in the cartoon are some of the ones who debuted in The Rebirth three parter.

I often forget Skids, Swerve, and Tailgate, and a lot of the season 4 characters. It still amazes me that a lot of these characters are now some of my favorites in IDW, especially in the MTMTE comic.

There was that one big one. Red and blue. Changed into a flat-nose semi. Poor bastard kept loosing his trailer.

For the life of me I can't recall his name.

I never heard of Roadbuster, Whirl, or Topspin Twin Twist until this past year ... dont even remember them as toys that existed when I was a kid... was it just cause I didn't read the comic?

Outside of the six main Seekers, I never once heard of or even remember the 'Rainmakers'. Weren't they just background filler?

I totally forgot about Cosmos, Skids, Grapple, Trailbreaker, Hoist, Gears, Brawn and Huffer. But I never found them cool anyway. So maybe that's the reason why I forgot them.

The Generations versions of Skids, Trailbreaker and Cosmos at least look cool!

Ah and I did not know that Swerve and Tailgate existed in original G1 :lol : So I must have forgotten about them even more.

Didn't you ever look at the toy catalogs back then? Or did you throw them all out when you pulled the figure and accessories out of the box?

Tailgate I can understand, but Swerve's biggest moment on TV was when he was stepped on by Trypticon in Five Faces of Darkness Part 5. I remember nobody brought him to school for fear one of us will step on him during recess.

That's awkward. Because Five Faces of Darkness is what I re-watch most.
