In Age of Extinction, where Cade and his daughter are rescued by the boyfriend (forget his name), it's mentioned they've been having sex, oh, she's 17, but the film takes the time to show it's legally okay for them to be having sex despite her being a minor. He even keeps it on a laminated card that he pulls out of his pocket.

Like.... why is this a movie about giant transforming robots? Couldn't we have just..... NOT brought this up at all?

Shane really was a dipshit. Say whatever you will about TLK, the fact that it ditched the 20-somethings like Tessa and Shane was one of its side benefits. Kind of funny really - TLK has positive aspects, but nothing solid to hang them on.

 

Oh yeah...that was the worst transformers scene....yea...

 

I remember when I was maybe 4 or 5 I saw the original TF movie on TV or some shit. I barely remember it, it was only a bit during the attack on Autobot city and naturally I had no clue what was going on. Years later I discovered Beast wars, totally unaware the two were at the time. It had me at the episode "Chain of Command." I was hooked, and Transformers became my passion, my childhood, and eventually my life. As years went on I grew more and more knowledgeable about all that existed before I entered the brand, and soon every facet of the franchise was within my sphere of interest, from obscure Japanese characters to the hottest new series on air and on toy shelves. I've never let that spark die down within me, and from the instant I entered the hobby I had that yearning desire to see the next big thing. When rumours started making the rounds in 2005, and and the prospect of a live-action Transformers movie approached reality my excitement and imagine ran wild. I had no idea what it'd be like, I had no idea what I wanted it to be like, but I had so many ideas and wants and wishes, but ever since I was a child one thing had always been a dream to be seen within the franchise, and I remember even wishing every night:

"Please let there be a full scene in a Transformers movie where characters discuss statutory rape laws in Texas!"


















Oh wait no I never wished that because what the actual fuck Michael Bay.

Not going to lie when your 6 watching the film its funny so I give that a pass

 

Yeah that was ridiculous. Just have them either both be the same age, or just don't include that scene at all. It raises more questions than answers.

Why couldn't the wrecking balls be attached to Hightower as a weapon Devastator can swing around to smash things? It could be one of the many ways he would trash the pyramids. But nah, instead we got that.

 

i'm mostly just disappointed he actually pulled out the card. was hoping he'd be like "my face is my statute" to follow up on the warrant scene from earlier.

the whole movie should've just had recurring moments like that. "my face is my bounty." "my face is the seed." "my face is my army of drones."

would've really saved face, imo.

 

The worst part is people actually defend AOE while that exact scene exists.

It's not even humorous. There's literally no point in the scene. Just another example of how badly AOE needed editing.

Uh, a 6 year old watching a PG-13 movie?

I'm sorry but do ratings just not matter any more?

 

Yeeahh... definitely didn't belong in a TF movie, it didn't need to be there and yet it was. Granted quite a few scenes scattered throughout these movies could be collected and placed in that category as well.

Though honestly I find the overt pandering to China (including but not limited to portraying the CCP in a positive light) to be a lot more disturbing than that scene which lasts less than a minute. Though I still can't help but smile at the glass irony of the movie blatantly depicts a Chinese corporation creating literal Transformer knock offs as part of the damn plot.

If that were intentional or perhaps even satirical it would've been great, but I doubt that it was.

The Michael Bay fetiche.

And they still want more transformer movies directed by this guy.

I will always hate Revenge of the Fallen. Not only for being an absolutely terrible movie... but it robbed us of Transformers Animated Season 4.

 

Simmons arse was the worse decision for a joke.

 

Shane was a disgusting character. I don't want to see relationships, boyfriend girlfriend drama, I want to see the transformers themselves.

 

There was literally no reason for the boyfriend character to be that much older than her. You could just have Cade be all protective and shit without the creepy shit.
