I own the original Masterpiece Optimus Prime And I've been buying the new masterpiece figures and he doesn't fit into scale And I live in Canada so it costs about $220 to get mp 10 Do you think it's worth it or should I just stick with what I got?

MP-10 is a far superior figure to MP-01 (not saying that MP-01 isn't great). They're very different. I own both and I only display MP-10.

That said, MP-10 isn't perfect (some of the proportions, head and neck are off). I wouldn't be surprised if we got an even better, more "anime" Masterpiece Optimus in the next few years, especially given the very-slavish-to-the-cartoon look of the new Megatron.

I still love MP-01, and I think MP-10 is totally worth it. Especially if you've been collecting the carbots that followed MP-10.

I have to echo what others have said. MP-1 is still a great figure but MP-10 is so much better in terms of scale and construction. Also, he is a more complete release with the trailer that can hold the other MP car Autobots.

I would echo the others as well. I have MP4, MPP10 and an ordinary MP10. But I would suggest you to some research first. There are several versions of MP10 out there. Shattered Glass (official Hasbro) is being released soon, EVA colours is already on the market, I think, black or red Optimus MP10 and even Year of the Horse with transparent trailer is available for about the same price. I think you compare photos first. My mistake was that I just went out and bought MP10 without doing proper research first. If I had known about the Year of the Horse edition, I would have bought that instead. The transparent trailer looks really nice.

    Two things:
    1 - Scale
    2 - Cost
If matching the scale of the rest of your MPs is important to you and if you can get it at a good price then get him.
I don't know how the conversion rate works but the reissue at bbts is $160. That's the tru reissue tho, not takara MP10

MP-10 is one of may favourite G1-inspired figures.

My MP-01 is sitting dismantled in a box somewhere and I don't really care if I ever find I again. :I

Depends on what it's intended for. If it's just for the sake of desiring a newer MP Optimus Prime, then I say No. If it's because you have a MP-stand in for Megatron and want one that fits the scale, then absolutely. And also, can you afford $200+ on yourself right now, when Christmas is right around the corner?

Don't get me wrong, MP10 is an excellent figure. But I didn't really want one until I sold my MP05 and bought Apollyon. I think MP01 is still an excellent toy, and is a true representation of what Hasbro quality was like back in the 80's with it's die-cast parts, rubber tires, and that nostalgic connection - only much, much bigger this time.
