    If I may give my :2c:  ...

My recommendation, and this is for anyone, MOVING FORWARD, is just cool off for a bit. You don't necessarily have to leave, just take a deep breath and think about what u want to say before submitting the reply. No need to comment on everything, tho. You'll be alright, kid. :)

Thanks!:)  You're right I should really think about what I say before I put it down in words. feelingthe need to comment on everything is just an annoying habit I have that I'm currently working on. That and not letting my like of Transformers Prime and it's characters get the better of me.

I like Prime better than Animated. I loved Animated to bits, the story was great and the characters were lovable but Prime just adds an element of realism (well, as much can be added to alien robots waging a civil war) that I just love.

    Plus, it's got Knock Out.

See I thought to myself, what would a Cybertronian superhero be like: what elevates a being that is already extraordinary to the level required for such an appelation.

    Which is really saying something.

Anyway, my only real disappointment was that I honestly hoped that Prime was going to revisit the sort of conflicted (with better writing) version of Starscream that we got in Armada.

Other than that, Prime's pretty much been apples for me.

@Kaju yes. Yes. A normal process of the writers happily dropping the ball again and again and again, making their best written character so unlikeable.

Well unlikeable for you. Like you said it won't be that way forever! There are characters that has much worse treatment from that! Like Blu from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends,Dexter from Dexter's Labratory, and Animated Bumblebee! Compaired to them she's actually decent.

Superior over Animated figures? Absolutely. I love Animated, have a large portion of the figures and I have to say that Prime blows them out of the water.

Some of the complexities of the movieverse figures with the aesthetic of the show, all in one figure. Animated captured the look, but not the complexities.

Bumblebee is a disappointment, I have to agree there. Arcee and Starscream, however... Starscream is the absolute star of the First Edition wave. He's a fantastic figure.

The plastic quality on Animated figures is much better than the plastic quality on the Prime figures. I realize part of the problem is design flaws, due to the plastic being too thin for their desires, so they should've used better plastic for the thinner pieces. Arcee's ankles are just begging to break.

The Prime figures that have problems are only the first editon figures so the actual toyline next year will probably improve the plastic quality in the future .

Comparing how both the Animated and Prime toys are however is kind of unfair. These are toylines that have compleatly different asthetics going on each with their own sets of rules. Animated had a more cartoony streak going on with while Prime has a semi cartoony and semi realistic streak. They both work on their own terms the best they can and nether one has it wrong.

But that's just my own opinion anyway.

You know, since I joined this fandom in 2007 I've seen people complaining about bad plastic in figures in every single line.

Yet never have I see any of those figures with "bad plastic" break. And those things are falling of my shelves all the time.

Okay, complain a lot? We do. However, has it occurred to you that there might be a worrying trend on the rise? I could see one person breaking their Rodimus at the shoulder. But two? Three? Maybe even more?

This is clearly a design or plastic flaw and if it isn't corrected, it'll just continue. Perhaps some of us bitched too much over the little things, but this seems to be a big thing and we need to yell about it. At the top of our lungs.

It is not clearly a design or plastic flaw because I am yet to see it HAPPEN myself. Sorry but that's my personal experience, until one of my TFA or ROTF or DOTM or Prime toys break (all of which had you guys complaining about weak plastic tha i just dont see) I'll keep thinking Hasbro's plastic is doing fine.

The only worrying trend for me is that I'm seeing people doomsaying their collection when I don't really feel any doom coming up, I'm sorry but I'm just not seeing/feeling the problem and neither are TFA Bulkhead, ROTF Sideways or DOTM Megatron who keep taking daily punishment from falling from a freaking wardrobe.

i haven't read all 16 pages of this thread, but i still like animated better. But i think its mainly the medium, i just dont like cg cartoons. i like traditional animation where you can have more characters and dont have to worry about budgets for animation models... and i don't like the empty backgrounds that are prevalent in cg animation. one of my favorite things about animated was looking for all the little cameos in the background.

Also i think the story and universe with animated was much more detailed! just the fact that the allspark almanac exists is testament to this. i was never a huge thundercats fan but i find myself being way more excited about watching that show than prime.

That's something to think about actually. Sure Prime had some episodes that are considered filler but Animated had something like this going on too. Trying not to waste a good story is understandable because you do want to do your best when it comes to strong storytelling, but like they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I'm sure Prime will be able to fix the flaws it has at the moment because if Animated was able to improve their flaws in it's second and third season than there's a strong chance of the same thing happening to Prime.:)  I myself like both shows myself and I consider them both to be the most strong TF series in recent years!

As for the unwarranted bickering well the thing is is that some people like me take other peoples opinions at heart too much and as a result have a clash of which series is better. I think both shows are awsome but maybe it was the ensthuiam of Prime got the better of me. One of my family members was having a difficult problem and I was worried and not thinking clearly and that resulted. So being objective is not at all bad it's really not.

Prime is doing about what I expected of a show from Orci and Kurtzman. Shows by them tend to move slow and plod along. Prime is more mature... which for ME equals less fun.

Prime Starscream is overrated to me. I think he's well written, voiced to perfection, and yet... so lifeless. Starscream always had some balls. Animated Starscream always had a snappy comeback, even as a disembodied head. Not to mention, he was a schemer supreme... he changed the course of the show several times.Prime Starscream seems competently evil, but not nearly as ambitious or effective... at this point in TFA, Starscream had turned himself into a credible threat to Megatron. This Starscream does show you WHY he turns into who he is, but it feels like to TOOK. SO. LONG. for him to see that.

Prime's characters feel like the stuff they do doesn't impact each other. Even the 'you killed Cliff' scene felt forced to me, to give Arcee another character arc. I'm hoping that season one was just setting up the universe, and that future seasons will expand on things greatly (though I fear as with ALL non clone wars CGI shows, the cast and set pieces are limited by the medium).

Animated made me LIKE the Autobots. I've always been a Decepticon fan, but Animated made them a threat, requiring the Autobots to use the one advantage they've always had... teamwork. Prime feels like the Cons have no threat that the Autobots can't nullify with a mere one team member... the solution is always to send in Prime. Hell even Arcee is a beast... I await how they're going to explain WHY Soundwave isn't sent out to fight after he so throughly mops the floor with Blacka... I mean Airachnid. Starscream is totally ineffective, Breakdown has a decent rivalry with Bulkhead... But the Cons don't have that "oh shit!" character. To me, the Autobots need an insurmountable force to conquer. Unicron WAS NOT that... he's beaten too easily. Animated Autobots had a grumpy vet, courageous new leader, overeager rookie, lovable clumsy strong guy, brooding loaner, self important dick, regal commander, cool guy... Sentinel, Magnus and Jazz weren't even main characters, and in 39 episodes, we got to know them greatly, AS WELL as knowing Lugnut, Shockwave, Blitzwing, Megatron, Starscream (and his clones), Swindle, Lockdown, Wreckgar, the Jet Twins, Soundwave, Blackarchnia... 26 episodes into Prime, we barely know Prime, Bulkhead, Bumblebee or Ratchet... Arcee is the only bot with serious development. Starscream, Breakdown and Knockout are well explored. But it feels like we only get to know a few of the TFs, while the rest are there as one note backgrounders. This especially annoys me with Optimus... TFA Optimus was tough, but still took time to laugh, be shocked etc etc. Prime's Prime is FLAT OUT heroically boring. He's epic, but he seems to be brooding and unable to do anything but fight. In animated, he also seemed to be a leader, while in Prime (thus far) he seems to see himself as the last line of defense, instead of organizing his team into a strategy that allows them to win.

I am a Prime fan, but it's not been as fun of a ride. TFA seemed like a ride through the Transformers universe. Prime feels like it's supposed to be an intimate look at a few characters, but it takes so long to do so. If the pacing improves, the characters emote more (find some joy dammit), and cast grows the show will improve.

^You said it. Prime's #1 issue is pacing. Episodes that would have been AWESOME (like Crisscross and Deus Ex Machina) were ruined by a plot moving at a snail's pace. And I think your right in assuming season 1 was merely there to introduce the audience to the backdrop and characters. From what's been said Season 2 is supposed to actually have a lot of stuff happen (Bots leaving Earth, Bee's backstory, OP's amnesia, Wreckers, Dreadwing, Project Chimera, ect.), so hopefully the formula will be improved.

That isn't to diss on Prime first season. Compared to most other shows on TV Prime was very good, especially in the music, voices, and visuals.

Didn't like Animated that much. Didn't like the designs but with a few tweaks here and there, the story could have been great.

I've always hated Animated. I don't know why, I just always have. But I love Prime! It's my favorite continuity (including Live Action Films;) ) so far! It's very well thought out, and I like that it can be linked up to the novels and the new video games. Some stuff in the continuity though, contradicts itself, but that happens in all continuities, doesn't it? :p

I absolutley LOVE the Aligned Continuity. I like the novels and the video games alot. Prime is becoming a favorite of mine, but Animated is still my favorite cartoon/movie series. The Aligned continuity as a whole though is probably my favorite
