I´ve deallt with rikkomba and was a responsible seller, so i´m tended to side with him in this matter.

And yea you packed your items in a piss poor way.

My 2 cents is while he should have maybe used bubble wrap for these. They are hard to find minicons that do have a higher value than some other more common minicons. I think 30% refund is a bit high, if Rikkomba is unhappy with them, send those 5 in question back and get a refund on those. To blacklist Nightscream is a been extreme also, he is one of those die hard MISB collectors who has been around for awhile. He should have packed them better, he has said as much, and in the future i am sure he will.
Rikkomba you should just send back those 5 that you are unhappy with.

I'd be willing take those five back, and cover the shipping - I believe that is fair. What's not fair, is a 30% refund, and that was what got my blood boiling after seeing the damage - perhaps I overreacted.

    To be brutally honest:
If I was shipping $480 worth of stuff overseas they would be wrapped in bubble wrap, surrounded by styrofoam peanuts, and incapable of getting damaged to the best of my abilities.
And if I had paid $480 for stuff and received it in the condition described, after finding that little packing, I'd be after your blood, let alone a refund..

No its not. He shipped these items in a horrible way that guaranteed damage, and he's being extremely difficult about giving a well-deserved refund. as a MISB collector, there's no excuse for him being so careless and disrespectful.

Why the hell should HE have to replace items that YOUR carelessness damaged?!? He bought "Mint" items from you that were not "Mint" on arrival. thats what matters.

Nightscream, give him a refund, and man up to this whole situation. let it serve as an expensive lesson to you, not a punishment to him for trusting you.

But I never asked you to ship the items in such a way. And you never asked me more money to make a better shipping.

I don't have to replace anything: I bought a mint set from you and I never received a mint set, but a damaged set due to your shipping. We are talking about valuable items here and your actions caused me a loss of value. It's my full right to receive what I paid for. If I'd send you a misb item you wouldn't be happy to receive the same treatment.

Considering that you offer was 69$, I think I made the right thing. And you never mentioned anything about a rare minicon or such, I could have been interested.
The refund of 144$ was a 30% refund request, because all boxes have some scratch; I was hoping you to lower to anything between 100 and 120$, but you stayed on 69$, which, considering you are getting 50$ back anyway, is outrageous to ME.

It's not about being obligated or not, is about doing the right thing and facing your responsibilities. Also, I don't see how decidin to stop replying to my PMs after paypal closed the claim is a positive thing, always talking about "doing the right thing".
I don't deserve this, I sold lots of stuff to get the money to pay for this and I accepted your price because I trusted to buy such items from a MISB G1 collector.
And this is what I get from somebody who collects MISB TFs, talking about "outrageous".

    Wait wait wait.

You ended the PM discussion, and redirected it to a public forum?

What on earth is that going to accomplish? Your shipping has already been established to be at fault by all those involved. The only remaining point of argument is that of a form of refund that:

-Is the seller's moral responsibility to dole out for such a shoddy packing job
-Is a dispute meant to be handled to a final degree by Paypal and/or credit card companies
-Is part of a now-public dispute in which the seller is on the shakier ground, due to said shoddy packing job

This should have been resolved privately, with negatives being left in a feedback thread. Now you're practically digging your own grave by trying to turn it into a public participation argument.

You owe him a refund on the basis of an awful packing job. If he does not accept what you offer + there is no middleground that can be agreed upon, send it anyway and close your side of the deal.

I really can't see how redirecting the private discussion between you two into a public forum has done anything but wildly exasperate your own already-shaky position in this dispute.

Perhaps you should take a look at the first page of this thread. The very reason I started it, was because I wanted input on how and how much I was going to refund him. I was also unsure on to which degree the problem was due to poor packing, but that was established to be the case after the first reply.

But that is also part of the problem. I did not sell "mint" boxes with robots in them. I sold "mint" robots that were sealed to opened trays in undescribed condition. No matter how rare the items in question are, that is a major difference to selling, say, a boxed item with a listed grade like "C9".

He means that since you paid using a credit card you can call them to dispute the charges. Explain the situation and they might take the money back from Paypal and credit your account. That's why Paypal always asks "are you sure you want to pay with a credit card?" and gives a list of reasons you should have the money drawn directly from your checking account. They also don't like losing the 3% that the CC company skims off the top...hypocrits.

As for now, Paypal.it doesn't allow to take funds from a bank account but only to transfer them to it. Some time ago it was not even possible to do so, you just had to use that money for ebay, it was veeeery ebay-only, not it's much better.
    Thanks for the explanation.

vangelus: as I said to rikkomba by a new pm a while ago, I agree, it was a stupid Idea to bring the discussion out of the natural pm setting. It couldn't possibly have a positive effect on our problem. I also agree that sending my suggested refund anyway sounds like a good idea. Although I will adjust what I think is fair compared to the damage that was displayed (unless Rikkomba agrees to return the damaged items).

Draven: it was not an auction. The sale was agreed on by pm, and the only picture I had was the one in my collection thread (only showing them from the front).

Eitehr way, Rikkomba saw what he was getting and, for the money he was paying, clearly (and rightly) expected them to be packed extremely well. He didn't get that; he got an old box with a tiny bit of packaging. And damaged goods because of it.
Whether he is intending to sell them on or not is irrelevant; he paid for them in one condition, and he got them in another. Your behaviour in this thread really hasn't painted you in a good light at all. I wouldn't expect to be able to make many more deals here after this, to be honest.

I think all that has been said here is sufficent. We will nto have a private dispute continue into a public thread.
