I'm pretty sure these were made by MicroMachines in the mid 90's, and I remember that they were popular enough to be featured as a BK or McDonalds (can't remember which) kids meal toy. I'm pretty sure the yellow, winged one was from a kids meal as I have two. Also, I have a drill tank accessory that goes along with the blue hockey stick wielding guy. Anyway, I've always loved small toys like minibots or these guys, but I can't remember for the life of me what they were called. If anyone has any of their own or any information to share, I'd appreciate it. These three bots combine to form one scorpion-eque tankbot. That's one sexy robot orgy of a combiner.
This site is trippy as hell. Every time I remember a toy from my childhood, less then 24 hours later someone makes a thread about it.
Haha. You should definitely check out www.x-entertainment.com if you love remembering old toys. The site's author, Matt, has written like thousands of articles about toys from the 80's and 90's, and he's funny as hell.
You're welcome! The two next to the hockey-stick guy are McDonald's promotional figures. You already know the blue guy came with a vehicle, and the other three are combiners, so I think you're set. There's actually a site dedicated to Micro Machines with a section on all the Z-Bots. I just don't have that link handy.
Yup, the middle guy in the first photo was a Mc'D's Z-bot, and (for the record) just about my favorite Z-bot as a kid...
It's funny too, because he's one of the most common ones I see around places, and I even have him. Ditto on the purple winged one.
Z-BOTS! Oh I LOVED these things when I was a kid -and still do! Aw man! These toys were great! I had quite a collection, but there were many Bots that I could never find. Unfortunately for me, like many other favorite toy lines of mine from around '93-95, they were not easy to find, especially any new figures released from halfway on in the line to the line's end. I wish I could find these things again. Micro Machine stuff is not easy to come by, at least from my toy hunting experiences.
That is not combining, that is three robots having a straight-up humptime. They are hell of doing the nasty.
Hahaha, I think that makes them the best combiner ever. Even Devastator would walk away from that mess.
