No I'm not being sarcastic, and yes I know that they can get old... but the one thing I love about them? The passion for Transformers. You hate this or that? Good. Someone else loves it! Maybe that person is a newer fan, or only watched G1 growing up. It's nice to see the love / hate thing. At the end of the day this is a great board driven by a common passion of its members, and I sincerely appreciate that in all of you.
Awesome post, it'd be far worse if we were all indifferent. If you love or hate something then it's provoked atleast some emotion
Exactly! I have a ton of questions/theories about stuff that some people are touchy about and all this hate happens. It's just that we all like different stuff about the same thing I guess.
I guess its pretty ok for different people to like different things. But its a different story when individuals automatically label others as stupid, ******ed, or any derisory term for liking something that they do not like. Its as if in their mind it goes - "I hate this, if you don't hate it too you're a moron".
I love the threads where someone who insanely loves the movie goes at someone who insanely hates the movie. It's really funny stuff to read and kind of addicting since I keep coming back to the movie section just to make sure I haven't missed anything from the wackos on either side. I still enjoy the things in the sane treads because people have a lot of really interesting ideas and different ways of looking at things. But for just shear entertainment value nothing beats a good hater vs lover fight. Plus whenever you think you might be a little strange for being an adult who loves a toy line you just read something by a rabid lover or rabid hater and all of a sudden you seem fairly sane and well adjusted compared to them.
