It was a freak accident. My baby boy (Cheeto) was on the garage door while it was up, and someone pressed it and he was crushed. I've been bawling all day today, mainly because I had to witness him die. My brother was screaming, and I went out there in the last seconds. The vet said he died a quick death, and most likely felt no pain. It's just something I'll never unsee. This is more of a warning to everyone, that if you have pets (especially cats) please be more careful with things like this. The vet also said it happens a lot more often than most people think. I'm just grateful my father took him down (Cheeto was in the top) and brought him to vet to be cremated. God, I'm going to be haunted by this... I just wish I hadn't seen what I did. RIP My Big Orange Boy...
I'm so sorry. Losing a pet is a horrible experience. Even worse when its a gruesome death. Not to make you more depressed but we once lost a puppy to a bus. It is a scarring memory. Hope you sleep well tonight Cheeto.
Holy shit, I am so sorry to hear that. Losing a pet...that's really goddam rough. Two things you need to remember--the vet told you it was painless, and that's important. He didn't suffer. And if you cared enough to post about him, then y'know what? He had a good life with a good owner. It's horrible it's over sooner than it had to be, but he had more and better years than many other cats in this world, and if nothing else, you can feel good about that.
Im so sorry to hear about you're lose. Like squirrelcar said, take comfort that he didn't suffer and that his time on Earth was spent in a loving home. The only other thing I can add is that the pain will fade with time.
sorry about your loss brother. I don;t even like cats and that was some sad stuff to read. I hope you and yours are well, that the pain fades quickly and that all that remains is the love. Thanx Transbot90210
I'm sorry to hear that. But it sounds like he had a wonderful happy life. Hope you sleep well tonight.
Sorry to hear that I've had a few cats die over the years myself. Probably the most painful was having our cat shot with a pellet gun and she managed to live long enough to walk home. Then be taken to be operated on but the wound was too severe. I would suggest on investing on having a senor on your garage door to prevent anything from passing underneath. Well good luck =/
This is terrible. I'm sorry for your loss. My Dad lost all his dogs when he was a kid, 1 to a bad driver and the other 2 to unforeseen diseases. At times like this, you should take it easy and get some rest. In the meantime, I wish you the best of luck and a brighter tomorrow. My prayers are with you, your family, and Cheeto. RIP, old friend.
If tears could build a stairway and memory a lane I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. I'm so so sorry. I started crying when I read your post. Everyone here said pretty much what I would have. Losing a pet is the worst.. just.. I'm sorry <3..
We had a sensor underneath, he was sleeping on the garage door while it was parallel to the ceiling. So he was killed at the top instead of the bottom. Thank you everyone for your kind words. My heart is broken right now. I've cried all the tears I could cry right now... it's just that I had to witness him in his final moments. It was awful...
