It was freaking sweet! The complaints I had heard about poor acting were overinflated, I think the trade off between robots and humans was great. My original complaints about the impossible nature of the transformations was correct, though it looked great, so I don't care. I'm disappointed that Michael Bay talked so much about 'no mass shifting', but in the end it was quite abundant, though it wasn't usually as obvious as Frenzy's head turning into a cell phone. All in all, I was very pleased with this movie.
watch it again, the humans are funny the first few times, then they just get annoying. I have to fast forward wenever I watch it now.
Now, I won't deny that there was mass shifting in the film...as there most certainly was. But Frenzy's head turning into the cell phone isn't really a good example, as that wasn't really mass shifting..as there is very little mass to Frenzy's head to begin with..so it being able to scale to the size of the phone makes some sense.
I friggin' love the movie. Say what you will about it, but it was freakin' entertaining as hell which makes it a total winner in my books. Still, did they have to make it such a small cellphone? There are better cellphone's they could've used that would look more realistic as his Altmode. Even if his metal was paper-thin all over, he still wouldn't be able to condense that small. Also, that was totally mass-shifting, as the spider body, legs and head could not compact to that size realisticaly, though that scene wasn't really meant to be taken seriously.
Agreed. Or Frenzy head-mode could just turn into a small block rather than the phone itself and hide. I wouldn't call it mass-shifting though, its just cheating. Mass-shifting is intentional shrinking and expanding. The Allspark shrinking is mass-shifting, for example. Speaking of the Allspark, its explained to be god-like hence the mass shifting. Also, Ratchet said the Allspark is pure energy, and energy has no mass. So my personal theory is that it is the ultimate energon cube with so much power it can create life, just like a jolt of lightning (in theory) created life here on Earth by starting a reaction between the carbons, hydrogens, nitrogens and what have you. The Allspark has no weight, however the outer later somewhat reacts to form matter and mass, like how the outer layer of most metals oxidize. I got this idea from E=mc^2.
It shocks me that it tooked you so long to watch the movie. Specially when you post regulary at TFs forum. I concurr with you, the movie rocks.
I liked it too my only complaint was too much teenager stuff going on for the first hour of the movie.
Glad you liked it. I can't stand it myself, but I have an extreme hatred for MB movies. Still I give him made props for making TFs mainstream again.
Yeah, I would have seen it earlier, like when it came out, but I was serving a mission in South Carolina, and the church has rules that missionaries are required to live by, including limiting one's exposure to media. Before anyone asks, it's to help the missionary focus his/her mind on the gospel. Transformers movie is great, but it doesn't help me teach about the Savior. Someday I am going to figure out how to put TFs into a gospel lesson. Maybe using Romans 12:2 or something.
He said it's "raw power". Exactly what kind of power remains unknown. Wether it's energy or some form of element is not known.
I fast forward through all the human scenes now. Watching the TF parts never get old, but Im sick of Sam yelling, can't take any more.
