Has it ever been stated whether or not Mirage and Wheeljack will be named correctly in the DVD release? Or is there still licensing issues? A few simple one-word dubs wouldn't kill them.
They will always be Dino and Que in the movie world, but they will always be Mirage and Wheeljack to fans.
Well that just doesn't seem right. Why would fans remember them with names they didn't have? It'd be like remembering Optimus Prime as Mathilda.
The audio was record for Mirage and Wheeljack but was dubbed over with Dino and Que. Simple Dub removal! Personally, I like that they were named Dino and Que cause that means we get some more original TF Names and characteristics from the movies. Homages are awesome but we can't just be stuck in G1 people! Too bad no one understands....
He will always be Mirage to me, just like it's always gonna be Wheeljack. Don't care what's in the movie, I'll just say the right name over it!!!
I think that too, Mirage and Wheeljack are awesome names, Que and Dino are beyond stupid names, so to me, theyre Mirage and Wheeljack.
And then if we factor in Barricade, Jolt, Reedman/Microcons, and Scalpel too. That's something I'd like to see in the future of this franchise - be it new films or new series - is new characters. I just at the idea of fans (myself included, even though I somewhat prefer Dino and Que) watching the movie with anticipation and sitting on the edge of their seat. Every time "Dino" or "Que" is said in the movie (4 times in total) they have a recording device ready to play audio clips of themselves saying "MIRAGE!" and "WHEELJACK!" in a nasally nerd voice. *nervously holds the recorder* "~"MIRAGE!"~ report to bay 23." *sighs in relief* *anxiously awaits the line* "Oh, good, they're here. My name's ~"WHEELJACK!"~ I do hope you've got answers for him..." *sits back and relaxes*
I saw the Wheeljack thing. We'll have to see, I guess. Off topic: I'm madly in love with your sig. Same. I'm just gonna go along with the fan theory that "Q" and "Dino" are nicknames.
Oh, right...I forgot. Well, I guess that's more of a nameslap than anything, similar to Blackout (once Demolishor's minicon in Armada).
That made me col (chuckle outloud) I don't think it will be fixed/changed on the DVD/Bluray, just like DIBBID on TF1 wasn't. Although I was one of the upset fans initially, when the change became official, I 've accepted them since, and hope for a more "meatier" version of Wheeljack and a stealthier version of Mirage in future movies. slightly off topic: Following this same logic, I also hope for the combaticons (since Brawl was never killed) - and not following the same logic, i would like to also see a bright green+purple devastator 2.0 Most of all I'd love to see a great version of Menasor though.
