eris is actually got a lot of problems, the droid x, the newest one, is way better, my brother had the eris and it was crap, he got the x and it rocks

version is awesome, had them for years, never gonna switch

and i thought it was common knowledge to never get the insurance, tis useless

my brother is in the business, so i got some knowledge of how it all works, like how i got knowledge in the paint industry thanks to my dad lol

So if I'm understanding this correctly, the OP did the following:

    1. Signed a two-year contract with Verizon Wireless for an HTC Droid Eris smartphone that does many things including playing full-length movies.

    2. Found out that T-Mobile is offering an HTC HD 2 smartphone with a slightly bigger screen that does many things including playing full-length movies.

    3. Returned the Droid Eris smartphone for a Motorola W755 cellular phone that can play short video clips on its teeny-tiny little screen.

    4. Attempted to cancel contract with Verizon Wireless, thus incurring the $320 early termination fee, which was a condition of the contract one signed before one was able to leave the Verizon Wireless store with the smartphone capable of playing full-length movies.

    5. Came here to proclaim his hatred for Verizon for keeping him to the legally binding contract he signed.

Yeah ... it's still confusing even spelled out like that.

T-Mobile isn't doing so well right now, and may be bought out by Sprint. Maybe. You're under a LEGAL and BINDING contract, and it isn't worth spending all that money just to get a phone on a different carrier that may not be around in the long run. Phones only get better, so why stress? By the time your contract will be up, there will be a bunch of newer, and better phones to chose from anyway. Just my two-cents.

Don't hate Verizon, you have only yourself to blame. Next time, read the fine print and conditions before you sign. And why would anyone go from a carrier that has excellent coverage to a carrier that has so-so coverage? For a cooler phone that plays movies? First and foremost, the PHONE part has to be reliable and work well. Everything else is secondary. It could be the coolest phone ever, but if it doesn't get reception, it's useless.

IIRC, there is a window of when you can exchange phones, and if you still are in that time-frame, you can probably get the HTC Incredible or Droid X and be happy with that. They are nothing to sneeze at either plus you get Verizon's coverage that T-Mobile simply can not match.

I am satisfyingly entertained that the reason you're switching carriers is because a tiny, TINY mobile device will feature a VERY SMALL version of two movies you could enjoy on a regular-size SD or HD TV.

    Good luck with that.

What type of phone would Lance be?
    A smartphone.

In reality, optimusprime42, you should be hating yourself for not reading the contract fully.

I will say this you may like the iphone but anyone i have known with ATT loves their iphone and is extremely unhappy with the service. Now att verizon are being hard with the termination fees because they are both losing business to other providers that charge less. Currently on verizon and i love the service but i am switching to sprint when my contract is up cause its cheaper and i know people on sprint and their service is good.

You should pay the $320, cuz crappy movies are so worth watching on a tiny little screen. It would cost about $100,000 to put those two movies on any other phone, der.

Screw murder and abuse threads, it's threads like this that make me weep for the human race.

I've been with T-Mobile for the past six years. The termination fee at that time was $200. I don't know if it is still the same today.

Why would you leave Verizon just for a phone that can play TFTM? Heck, you can be in the middle of Lake of the Woods, when it's -20 outside and make and receive phone calls (which I've done). So why switch?
