Given that the droid eris is a pretty new phone, I'd say that you have the majority of your contract remaining. When you signed the contract, you agreed to the early termination fees. This sounds like your issue, not verizon's.

If you read the paper you signed when you agreed to the contract, you would know there is an early termination fee. Pretty standard practice for most carriers.

Nah, there has been way worse than this.

 

No offense, but it's decisions like the one you are trying to make, that force early termination fees. Also, the Eris is no slouch and could easily play both TF movies for much, much less than the $320 it will cost you to terminate your contract.

If you have the DVD's, why not just rip them into MP4's and pop them on your Eris?

 

I just dumped Sprint for Verizon and I'm glad I did.

Plus, why would you want to drop a good phone and pay a $320 fee just because the other has two mediocre movies on it when you can easily buy the BluRay or regular DVD and just watch it at home?

I just switch to Verizon from Tmo had the HD2 its a good phone but it stuck with a crappy OS Windows Mobile 6.5 if it was running android I'd still be there. Save your buxs dl digital copies and put them on your eris if that really why you wanna switch.

 

That is silliest reason to want to switch phone carriers I have ever heard.

 

hey I'm a VZW hater myself. I was on them for 5 years, and my old phone started shitting out on me. I had been ponying up the extra per month for the insurance, and unlimited TXT's. I was told that they'd replace the handset at no charge no questions asked more or less as long as I didn't get it wet. Well that old lg phone started screwing up, and the long and short of it is. I went to them 3 separate times to get it looked at, and all 3 times they told me fixed it, they weren't going to replace my phone unless I renewed my contract. I had also noticed my phone bill would fluctuate wildly from month to month. I asked during one of my visits WTF was up, and apparently VZW changed the terms of my 'unlimited' text messages to mean ONLY to other Verizon customers, and that was capped at 100 sent or received. After the 3rd time of their blowing smoke up my butt, about the crap handset. I asked how much was the buy out on my contract, drove to the AT&T and did just that. I've been a happy Iphone user ever since, and as an added bonus my phone bill is now consistent every month. I no longer pay $45 one month and then $155 the next
