Yeah it is... But the cluster headlamps and the body kit is just near impossible to do... Just put the head on... Now I have to paint the hips black, the lower arms, lower legs, intercooler, and rims silver... Then finally I have to tackle the decals...
remember, I can prolly help w/ the body kit if you need it. I think I found a good kit to butcher for the front kit.
Nah, it's cool... I think I'm just gonna roll with this... Thanks though!!! I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions later... Gotta go to work...
Looking nice so far, ron I'd like to know where REDLINE sits right now, but I'm afraid to come off as pressuring the guy who's making him, which I'm not... I'm in no hurry to rush him, he's awesome at what he does, but its been a couple months now and my curiosity is getting the better of me.... Andy
Cool! This is gonna look great. Do you have a lightsaber lying around for him? RW is the one with the light saber right, or was it 2 swords?
That's a really awesome idea, dude. Best of luck finishing him up. I can't see the dying process for the white limbs to be overly difficult, but you've always got here and Transtopia for help.
That looks really cool RW! The paint job in the head looks great. Where's the digibash of what your making? If I remember right he had some swords didn't he?
Razerwire is the first thumb, he has the two katanas... my RL is the one with the light sword... Andy
Progess report: Lower arms painted silver, seats detailed, swords added... Next up: Paint rims silver, paint hips black, paint lower legs silver, and switch out the white gun for a silver one from BT Smokescreen... I was being ******ed when I stripped off the black paint from Ricochet's hips... I needed them to be black...
Paint's pretty much done... Just wondering if I really need to take out that gold Autobot badge on his left shoulder and put a silver Autobot sticker in place of it... Also thinking about painting the hilts of the swords, but Storm Shadow wouldn't like that... But here's a recap of process: Stripped all of the paint off his head and repainted it... Stripped off all the flames... Stripped the paint off his crotch and hips... Painted his lower arms and lower legs silver... Painted his hips black... Painted his gun silver... Detailed his seats... Removed Ricochet from the vanity plate... Painted his rims silver... Stripped the defrost stripes from the rear windshield... Added his swords... Now the question everyone's been waiting for: How the HECK am I going to do the decals??? And the answer is I have no idea... But I need to make him look like this with the decals:
I would carefully mask off, and paint the side swooshes. After that, get some white decal paper (the Testors paper isn't that great, get something better at the hobby shop) And print your decals out on that. Give yourself plenty of black border around the edges, then cut as close to the gray as you can. You'll probably have to cover up the edge of the paper, on the decals. A fine tipped detailing brush, and a bottle of black paint will take care of that. You could probably thin the paint a little. to help keep the finish smooth. Once the decals are on, and your happy with them; clear coat it. Paint the swooshes first! You wouldn't want decals that big, on a toy. And, they would make for fairly large decals. Once they're painted, you can experiment with your graphics program to match the paint. You could also do the decals as just the black borders on clear paper, and put them down over gray. But, you'd have to paint most of the alt mode gray, first. Then you'd have to clear coat it, mask the swooshes and decals, (you don't want to put tape over bare decals) then paint it black.
