people (i always wanted to say that) after getting to see more of him in character (thx to fantransformers for youtubing ep 4!) im developing a dislike for the voice. i dunno, he just sounds...standoffish? hes got this saruman/movie magneto thing going on, which is cool, but even with ep1-3 weve seen how TFA megs is a pretty hands on kinda guy. now im not saying he should sound like welker or anything, its just that with that voice i was expecting a scorponok/shockwave (hey corey burton too!) who are known to be more aloof leaders. i always saw megs as a warrior amongst warrior type of bad guy leader. so people what do you think? people?
I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one. I feel that he has a very cold sounding voice, very evil...I feel it fits rather well. Admittedly though it is hard to really argue either side this early on in the show. We'll have to wait and see just what kind of a leader/character this Megatron is to be certain of how well it fits.
Ya kah? I personally love the voice. Heck, I think it's my favourite Megatron voice ever. G1 Megatron, while distinct and memorable, is not that kind that will strike fear into the hearts of enemies. As a kid, I always found it laughable to be honest. A/E/C Megatron to me sounds cunning, intelligent and scheming. But perhaps a bit too...young and gentlemen-like. Hugo Weaving's Megatron sounds beastly and gruff, and is appropriate for a Megatron that walks like it's constantly stalking prey. Animated Megatron sounds as old as the galaxy, cold as the void of space, and downright intimidating. From what is seen so far, I think it fits his foreboding and unyielding demeanor.
Megatron sounds badass. Megatron sounds competent. Megatron sounds like he's not going to lose it and do something dumb. What is not to like?
I thought Corey Burton did a superb job performing the role of Megatron. I do have to admit, David Kaye's my most favorite voice for Megatron so far; but this impressionist does come very close.
Yeah I was quite happy with the way he sounded, while I love BW Megs his voice almost lent itself to a Starscream type scheming character while Animated Megs just sounds like he eats babies and drop kicks puppies I liked it.
I like all the voices!!! Especially Black Arachnia and Blitzwing. "The name's Blitzwing, you insect!" Priceless! I wonder what Soundwave's voice will be like. I hope a lot like G1 Soundwave but then a little more 2008.
I like how creepy Megatron sounds. He sounds so calm and calculating that anything could happen, and he'd just take it and carry on regardless. He's got the best of G1 and Beast Wars Megatron in there, check out his angry shout of "Starscream". I was not a fan of the voice at first, but it's grown on me. Hopefully once Megatron gets back into the frame he'll be even more like his old self.
That's the kind of feeling I get when I hear Megatron's voice. Unlike other versions of Megatron, Animated Megatron's spent a long time out of any active combat (discounting G1 Megatron, he spent his 4 million years in stasis), scouring space in search of the Allspark with his small Decepticon crew for eons. That might account for why he is so different. Certainly he had to have developed a more patient and have a more tempered personality than other Megatrons in order for him to have endured such a long search.
I just think this is a new megs we haven't seen before. We have been so used to BW/Armadaverse megs as a powerful intellectual out for power. That Megs was always 'dueling' with his rival prime. This Megs is different and Prime isn't even dogshit to him. And this time he is actually stripped of his power and knows it. If the autobots found out he existed right now, he would be cooked. His voice is much like that of a force of nature and not just a villain looking to be more than he is. I don't think BW megs voice with his pretentious optimism and hearing himself talk would work for Megs-Head.
TF:A Megatron doesn't sounds like he'll always turn tail and run like a bitch *cough*cough*G1*cough*cough* David Kaye's Beast Era Megatron was fantastic, but his voice suffered a bit throughout A/E/C with having to be shoehorned into place as a dub.
I love the voice so far. It's got every element down for me - he sounds intelligent, confident, experienced, menacing, adjectives, words comma things good stuff etc, and you really couldn't ask for better voice acting talent for him.
Err sorry but I think Meg's voice is perfect fit for his Animated character too. I guess this means that the majority doesn't mind Meg's new voice which also means 'Good job, Mr. Burton!' Oh don't worry, I'm sure you'll, erm, find someone who shares the same opinion. Or maybe you could have the thread retitled 'Do you like Meg's new voice or not?"
I like Corey's interpretation of Megs. Very sinister sounding. Besides his Shockwave voice doesn't belong to this version of him.
