The more I think about the ending, the sight of Optimus flying off into space like Superman, the stupider it becomes. Why didn't he take the Knight Ship? Was he disgusted by it because it had been "disgraced" by Lockdown? Is there a space ship on a nearby planet or moon that he's flying to? Is he flying to the Nemesis?

A better ending would be one in which Optimus subdues Lockdown and imprisons him on the Knight Ship and then commandeers it to find the Creators. Another better ending is one in which Optimus transforms into a spacecraft or reverts to his space-flight-capable protoform. Anything but the ending that's actually in the movie would be better.

WTF, Michael Bay? C'mon, bro.

 

saw it on the weekend and all I got was a headache did not like it.....

 

He didn't take the ship because Lockdown's crew took off with it. It would have been a better ending though.

 

He should have just killed them all or convinced them to follow his lead, in the same manner he convinced the Dinobots.

 

Because Micheal Bay wrote the story, designed the robots and sets, composed the score, provided all the CGI, did all the stunts, hair, make-up, wardrobe...

 

I found his sudden flight ability kind of odd too...

I mean in ROTF, and DOTM, he could only fly with external jetpacks, and that was a big deal.

 

I thought it was cool...

 

Maybe it was part of his Knight upgrade. Recall that when he pulls out the sword in the Knight Ship, he undergoes a slight change/ transformation.

 

I don't know who's at fault, but all the TF movies after the first had pretty rushed endings. They could have shown Cade building his new farm while Prime repairs the knight ship and eventually takes off with a sad goodbye.

I really enjoyed the movie, but that was a very abrupt thing to do. I know Prime felt he needed to leave Earth, but it was a surprise to have Prime able to fly out of nowhere, let alone being capable of interstellar flight.

 

It was cool but stupid. Only God knows how many light years he'd have to fly like that to reach his destination. He doesn't even know what his destination is.

 

In my head, the ship left earth under the control of whomever was left on it.

I also assumed the boosters were part of his upgrade.

 

Umm.....Lockdown's useless crew? Why did they stay on the ship in the first place? Why weren't they involved in the final battle? Why didn't Lockdown stay on the ship and send out his troops to fight the Autobots? Why could Optimus just suddenly fly? Why would he be hiding at the beginning of the movie if he could just fly into space? Won't Optimus run out of energon zooming through space without a ship? Why did Galvatron just watch? What happened to the amazing transmorphing of the new decepticons and why were they so easily defeated? Why did they just let the dinobays wander off? Why didn't the dinobays fly into space with Optimus? Why were the Dinobays dinosaurs if they came from space? If they didn't come from space, when were they on earth and why did they keep their dino modes when they left? And those are just my questions about the ending, I didn't even get started on the previous 2+ hours of the movie. SO......MANY........PLOT.......HOLES.......MIND......GOING ....NUMB.......

 

It was so out of the blue it was a WTF? moment. At first I hated it but then I tried to rationalize it. I was thinking that maybe he flew to the moon and reactivated the Ark off screen. Because I highly doubt that he would have the power resources to reach the far distances of space travel. So yea He must have flown to the moon and got the Ark. Unless the Transformers take place inside the Matrix.

Lockdown was killed but I think there were still more of his flunkies on the ship. We don't get to see it (the biggest flaw in all of these movies really, in my opinion..so many plot points that could easily be resolved/answered by just showing), but they probably bailed with the Knight Ship.

Same goes for Prime's jetboots. Could have shown he gets upgraded as soon as he accepts his Knight sword, but instead there's just some panels shifting on his arms and the boosters come out of nowhere.

 

You obviously don't know what a plot hole is. And sorry for being blunt, but most of your questions are stupid...

 

I definitely took it as the Knight Ship still had some of Lockdown's mercenaries/subordinates aboard it.

It honestly wasn't that bad or cheesy of an ending as everyone makes it out to be.

 

I'm sure when Optimus Blew up the bottom of The nightship, he damaged more than just the magnet. The ship might not have been fit for interstellar travel.

The Knight upgrade gave him the ability, I thought that was obvious. He used the ability through a lot of the final battle;

 

Questions aren't stupid. Answers are. If you know the answers or can explain the ending to us, please do so.

 

Another thing is some of Lockdown's crew DID participate in the final battle. Slug catches one of their ships in midair.
