This feeling of happiness you currently have will soon dissipate as time goes by and before you know it you'll need to find something else to fill that void of the feeling of "happiness" that buying or obtaining something new brings. That's what collecting does to you. Congrats on the purchase though, even if I am sure it cost you an arm and a leg for that AFA figure.
I'm not a fan of AFA, BUT I do love seeing someone post about their excitement over getting a grail. Congrats!
I would love for an AFA guy to write an article about why they love AFA figures the same way Maz writes his articles. I would love to understand that mindset better and hearing directly from a collector would be cool. SQ7 would need to put in a disclaimer on that thread stating that anyone who wants to troll would need to get a warning.
Really nice score! Thats a super rare figure to find sealed. Youve already made several people jealous apparently judging by the unassuaged posts. Definitely throw a pic in the AFA thread, people would love to see it.
that is so true , i'm not like that with transformers as i do not collect old ones but i am with my vinyl not long after i find my holly grail i find another rare tune that becomes my holly grail and spend alot of time trying to track one down and end up paying loads for it lol or in those rare occasions when i score one for a bargain just by chance that is the best feeling ever that you will not see another for that price again

Congrats, I love hearing about successful grail hunts As someone mentioned earlier, what's the score?
Agreed, and well said, Big Dawg. To pass on something like this with only thoughts of "getting a reissue" is totally missing the mark of what stoneyjs is posting here about his excitement. Even with the AFA angle aside, a metal plates Optimus Prime isn't easy to obtain. I mean to reduce something like this to "just get a reissue" even negates much of what collecting G1 really is. A recent quote from Mad Men that I've photocollaged: I'm not saying that I do or don't buy into Don's philosophy here, but it's certainly something to think about.
thank you all for sharing my happiness. according to afa's record, only 3 sealed metal plates op which means the very first version exist so far,and this is the 2nd highest score. that's why i am so excited. btw, where is the afa thread,i cannot find it
