The initial premise of this thread seems rather silly. I'm willing to admit that, but I see a certain practicality to it as well. On various custom websites over the years (notably Radicons, ProCustomizers, and Sector70), I've been mistaken for the action figure customizer Jin Saotome. I'm not quite sure how or why this is happening since Jin Saotome has a valid website as well as various forum user ID's of the same name. I guess it's the fact that parts of our usernames are a little similar (Satomiblood vs. Jin Saotome), but they're also far too distinct for there to be any confusion. It's not like my username is Jin Satomi, which would understandably lead to said confusion. So I just wanted to clarify that I'm not him and vice versa. I'm nowhere near Jin's level and my commission output is infinitesimal in comparison to his. My main reason for starting this thread: I've had a commission inquiry or two fall through in the past when people realized I wasn't who they initially thought I was. Conversely, I may have taken some potential commissions away from Jin Saotome because of the confusion. And this has been happening over the years. It's not that I'm ashamed to be associated with Jin seeing as how he's one of the artists that got me into customizing. It's actually quite flattering. But it's a curious problem that I was hoping to clarify. I've also made an attempt to contact Jin. I doubt he's had people confuse him for me, but still. I've also contacted Superquad7 to determine whether or not this thread is kosher. But the mods can feel free to close/delete this thread.

haha, I have to admit I always have to stop and remember who's who. But that's mostly because you really ARE very good, and the gap between you and Jin is not so big as you think.
@BP: I sent him a PM. I'm just trying to clear things up. Nothing more, nothing less. @DL: Thanks. That's really flattering.
I've never confused you two before, but then again Satomi usually has more of a focus on Transformers, while Jin works on almost anything he can get his hands on, even articulating Skylanders nowadays. That said, anything to clear things up. I do have to wonder, though, whether people do any research at all before commissioning artists. Considering Jin has his own website (angelfire or something like that), I would've thought most of his commissions (if he even does any nowadays) would be through that, which Satomi would have nothing to do with. Of course, if you two do want to sort out who's better at what, feel free to send a few customs my way and I'l judge them for ya. (yeah, I don't know what this post adds to the discussion either. I guess I never confused the two before...ever...)
Satomiblood would not have created a thread otherwise, as he did detail in the op that he felt it had become a problem. Nevertheless, this is simply an attempt to alleviate any confusion. Sblood contacted me about it, and there's not really a problem with it here
It's a nice compliment to have your work confused with Jin's. It sucks that you lost work because of the confusion but I don't think Jin takes commissions. Only posts his works on Ebay.
That's cool. I remember when Jin created a thread to clear some things up... and that thread got WAY out of hand- needlessly. Gotta be careful about this stuff sometimes.
Totally. Satomiblood did the right thing by giving me the head's up here. Also, as usual, if there's ever a post/thread you may think is questionable, just be sure to report it
Jin hasn't gotten back to me yet, but I didn't know that he didn't accept commissions. Thanks for mentioning that.
