I know others have said this, but: lots of visual references to Transformers Animated: - Lockdown, obviously. - The main human character is an inventor with a young daughter. - Megatron's severed head, communicating with scientists in a lab and tricking them into building him a new body. - Joshua Joyce = Porter Powell. -Drift and Hound are CLEAR visual references to Samurai Prowl and Bulkhead.
I loved when Lockdown whipped out his claw arm. And I also thought back to Animated regarding Megatron/Galvatron. That plot point was great; I had stayed away from as much as I could and actually was VERY pleasantly surprised when Galvatron turned out to be sentient, and Megatron himself reincarnated.
I actually liked T.J. Miller! Bumblebee, Prime, Brains, Drift, Crosshairs, Hound had more personality than any previous characters.
TJ Miller was a relic to the style of the old movies. There's a reason that...scene...happens. I couldn't stand him. My biggest complaint was Tessa usually being a crying, sobbing, snot bubble in the nose damsel in distress. It becomes really offensive after a while. Such a cliche.
I actually liked him too. I'm glad there were really no characters like Leo and others whose only contribution was to scream and contribute toilet jokes. Miller was actually likable and humorous. Also totally agree with your second point.
Heh, I didn't get that feeling at all. I found her character rather realistic, as much it really could be.
TJ Miller was exactly like Leo! That's why he was, y'know SPOILERS -horribly killed. Because that's what audiences want for the Leo-type characters.
