If Fansproject or anyone else ever made a custom armor set for masterpiece Ultra Magnus like they did for the classics version, would that not be the greatest thing ever? Has anyone heard of any company possibly doing this in the future? With MP Rodimus/Hot Rod coming out, it would just be so cool.

I agree. One day, i'd like to attempt a custom armor set for MP magnus, that turns into a car carrier.

until then, i will wish for this

About a year ago or so there was a 3rd party company (not sure who, wasn't FP though) that was going to put one out, not sure why they cancelled it, but it was going to happen.

I'd rather HasTak do it so that way it'd be affordable.

Igear said they might attempt to make one when they recolor their pp01 faith leader to ultra magnus' color.

I'd love it if this happened, especially if it came from FansProject (I'm ruling out Hasbro/Takara doing it themselves, of course). I don't know about "greatest thing ever"...but it'd certainly did up there if they can do for MP-2 what they did for Classics Magnus. I don't even care if it was an actual car transport trailer as long as the bot mode kicked ass and allowed for decent posability.

If it was done well, I would be all for it. As others have stated, someone did have one in the works, but cancelled it. There are a few of them floating around that members did get their hands on. IMO it doesn't look bad when used as a trailer, but the head looks gianormous on it and it turned out a bit goofy. A more articulated attempt would be great, but my wallet may beat the hell out of me if it ever does happen.

That concept doesn't actually work. The idea is that Magnus' arms would bend in such a way that the biceps and elbows would instead function as the shoulder joints. The problem being that Prime/Magnus' shoulders don't work that way.

The other issue is that the setup would be floppy as all hell. MP Prime's biceps and elbows aren't strong enough to support the weight of those bigass arms.

The designer used an original Magnus cab concept for his rendering. It's Masterpiece-esque, but there are tons of differences upon closer inspection.

if the city commander set costs this much, then an mp sized armor would probably cost 40% more.

There are A LOT of differences with that version of Magnus' can mode.. And a lot of cheating it looks like. BUT! I think there are some ideas in there that could work, such as the transformation of the rear of the trailer into the "boots". I also kind of like the idea of the way the chest transforms.. Actually... the only thing that really wouldn't work is the head swap (which would probably still need to be a helmet of sorts) and the arms, which could go the route of Super Ginria's combination with God Bomber's arm's and hanve them slip over the for arms of the MP figure's with it's hands retracted... CRAP!! Now I want to seriously start designing this things!!!!!! GRRRRRR..

Dalianjj the guy that made the scaled up G1 trailer for MP-01, was the one you're talking about from last year. It was canned from mainly lack of interest in the design. Mark from Marksprojects.com has one also but his prices make it pretty out of reach for most of us.

I would rather see something that makes an awesome armor and just barely passes as a trailer, like the FP City Commander

Actually, if done right, the trailer armor could be done prefectly if my idea about it is right. It wouldn't even be in nearly as many parts.

This is one idea I'd rather not see. MP Prime is huge to begin with, then all those pieces added one would make it bulkier and it'd probably restrict poses and be kinda lame. I don't think the base toy lends to a good set of armor being made for it.

Best one I've seen is this: http://www.marksprojects.com/saleitems.htm

And the price is insane (although that Omega Supreme is tempting).

And to be honest, it's not that great, if it was around 200 I'd bite, but for 800 it had better be the best thing ever. I'd imagine that a working set for MP02 would be at least 200 hundred dollars, and that's being generous. The price alone would make it a risk for the company to produce, and couple that with assuredly small run.... I think it'd realistically be about 400 dollars.

City Commander has satisfied my Magnus itch more than enough. Although I'd like it if Hasbro made a leader sized Magnus based of the titanium. It'd need some work and obvious refinements, but I think that could be great.

I was just going to post this. Yeah I think it's awesome, but can't afford it. It's due to the fact that it's not mass produced. I think Anemis makes all these by hand so when I look at all the time/labor/cost that goes into this I can understand $800. I just can't afford it. :)

I'd love if someone would mass produce one!

The $800 is the regular one, where the $1300 Ultra Magnus trailer is the perfect edition, and honestly looks way better. If only we could make a group buy of 20 or more from Marksproject so he can sell it for around $500 to $700 for the perfect edition. Matbe someone email him?

It would be awesome. MP primes are too floppy though. Sorry metro.
