    1.) He's incredible.
2.) I knew he was small, but this really put it into perspective for me.
3.) His vehicle mode is even growing on me.
4.) I want him so bad, but I just can't justify the $50.00+ that he costs.

    :(

He's just too small to justify the price for me. Had he been at least G1 sized, I would've jumped on it.

RM G1 Convoy is smaller than a Deluxe, and yet you think this thing, which is even SMALLER than RM Convoy, will be imported, stripped of the diecast and released as a Deluxe (cab only) or Voyager (cab plus trailer)?

Where's everybody getting the assumption that this is Classics OP? My collection is focused on Optimus, and if the past is any indication, neither Takara or Hasbro has much of a problem banging out another "new" take on Prime.

I've preordered, and he'll look great with my other 20 or so Optimi (Optimuses?). Yeah, truck mode bites, but he's the closest I'm getting to a "Perfect" Prime without breaking the bank for the Anniversary OP custom trailers. With the stand, the accessories, the posability, and the die-cast, yes, I find him worth it.

Where'd everybody get the assumption that Hasbro would release RM Beast Convoy and RM Beast Megatron as part of the BW 10th Anniversary line?

Ah. Good point. Thin air, apparently.

Or maybe we're all so used to repaints/remoldings, that we're skeptical of everything. But that's just crazy talk.

Whatever. I eagerly await my Mini-Prime. His fully-posable coolness shall make me do the happy dance on my desk.

EDIT: Hey, what's with the rubber band around his waist in the photos? Just noticed it.

If the Optimus Prime robot and truck was designed a little better, then I'd buy this. I don't like the look if it now

Good point, that. Prime is always a good seller so it's a gauranteed return on the money for design and the mold.

Best guess is people are assuming a repeat of GF/Cybertron Optimus and THS-01 Galaxy Convoy, which are roughly the same design, but by no means is one just a scaled up/down version of the other.

Since "Classics" Optimus is (presumably) G1-inspired, it's easy to make the leap that it's design will mirror the THS-02 G1 Convoy. There's no reason it has to though, since the two toys will come out several months apart at the least, unlike the Galaxy Convoy toys.

So, no reason or evidence Classics and THS Optimus will be the same basic design, but it's a VERY easy assumption to make.
