I started this 2 years ago in the CGD. So far Ive only striped paint and part swapped between 4 versions of the mold but my goal is to have a more G1 OP but keeping the movie asthetics. It's a wip and I still have some paint to add. I'd also like to add to the inside of the trailer eventually. So I guess I made "evasion mode" before Hasbro. I'll add truck mode pics shortly. Sorry for big pics but my phone is my only computer these days. Also since it is a part swap the hues don't match exactly but the difference in values are subtle. AND does anyone have a tip for making his chest close up tight in alt mode? None of the molds have ever stayed closed for me.
I'm trying to decide if I want to remove the red from the wheel wells. It doesn't bother me but I think it may look nicer without it. Opinions?
You should definitely paint over the back wheel covers in blue, and Robot mode could use some red on the upper arms. I love what you've done so far. Makes me wish I hadn't gotten rid of mine.
I won't paint them, ill strip the red off exposing the blue already underneath. When I paint the shoulders will get red and a little on the gray chest underneath. Silver in various places as well. Wheels of trailer will get painted and I'll add the stripes.
holy crap dude, truck mode is beautiful. definitely gonna do a leader prime like this when i get it lol
Nice work. Too keep the roof closed in Truck Mode, don't tightly peg the arms. For some reason, on my Movie Trilogy copy of this toy, when the arms were tightly pegged, the roof wouldn't stay closed. Loosely peg them, and the roof should stay closed.
If you want a more streamlined bot kode, just remove the backpack and slider. It still transforms with the mod done
I'll have to try the loose arms when I get back from my wife's. I don't mind the backpack but I'll keep the mod in mind.
