I actually like Generations' Ironhide... altho I'd get iGear's as a replacement if I had a hundred bucks for that kind of thing.

It has elements I like (well, the chest gimmick mainly), but so many flaws.

It only barely becomes acceptable if you mistransform him, so he's not a stubby little troll with a perpetual downward gaze. His alt mode looks like a ceramic pot that was smashed and glued back together as an SUV. The baby blue rear windows clash with the clear windows elsewhere. And tell me that it's not somehow disappointing to have an Ironhide who can't even make a fist? :)

That mold works marginally better for Ratchet in my opinion, but the IH version is a litany of bad design choices. I just think he deserves better... though yeah, not $110 iGear better. Tempting but just too much for me.

It looks like the Prime version (when they get around to releasing him in proper colours) might be a good Classics stand-in, if he's not a midget like every other Prime figure at least. :(

Forgive the rant... at least this mod provides a passable almost-voyager size Ironhide that hovers between Bayformer and Classic aesthetics. :)

    Well, it's like this:
G1 Ironhide is one of my favorite characters. After the miserable thing that was the G1 toy, and 25+ years of new Ironhide characters that made no attempt to look like G1 Ironhide, Generations Ironhide (and Ratchet) were a sight for sore eyes (imperfect as they may be.)

I like how you put that.

I hear you there. Sort of sad that the closest we got in all that time to a G1-friendly Ironhide/Ratchet homage was Energon Towline. :)

Considering many Bayformers look like something that crawled out of a petri dish, "evolve" is a good word. :D

Thanks. I agree. Between the size and puzzleforming... I steer clear from that mold altogether. I preordered the iGear Ironhide as a result... but that thing looks like it'll never ship... *smh*

I honestly hoped that TF: Prime Ratchet would've had a Voyager version by now... because TBH I prefer to have figures sporting unique molds if possible... and TFP Ratchet's cool.

Ditto. I'm really disappointed that we're not getting a Voyager Ratchet (at least for the foreseeable future). And for that matter, considering the diminutive size of the PRID line figures, I would have liked to get Ironhide that way too, though that may be asking too much for a non-show character.
