Looks like Philly is going to be meeting Sandy head on.

Im in Connecticut....based on what is on the news, and the way the people reporting the State of Emergency, I dont have a good feeling about this one... I think its going to worse than they are saying, they dont want to cause a panic.

I think just the opposite actually. Atleast up here in the NE corner of what's going to be affected, I'm pretty sure they're making a bigger deal of it than it'll be to make sure people are prepared instead of taking it easy.

Granted, Connecticut is closer that Boston, but I was looking over the five day forecasts and other things for Boston, and it really looks like the worst we're ever going to deal with is 40-45 MPH winds and some decently heavy rain. I might be worried if I were RIGHT on the coast, but as is I'm mostly just hoping the power isn't out too long.

Still no rain down here. Just some small wind gusts. I thought it'd be much worse but there's still tomorrow and Tuesday.

I'm in Brooklyn, near Coney Island, but about 3 blocks out of the evacuation zone. In a 5th floor apt, so not worried about getting flooded out. I think its a pretty sure thing that I will lose power at some point during the storm. I have food and water stocked, but my biggest worry when the thought of blackouts happen is just the boredom associated with it...everything that I do involves needing power...iPads and iPhones are fully powered, but that will only last so long.

Just keeping the fingers crossed that power wont be out for too long...

Im in the Bronx, and i live in a basement Apt... I'm a little worried about flooding, but i've taken precautions. They're saying we are probably going to be losing power for at least a week so might be smart to stock up on some books.

Hey, good luck to my fellow Northeasters!

I am seriously nervous about my basement...and my roof....and the giant old tree right next to my house!

No kidding, you're practically a neighbor. I'm probably 1/4 mile from the Navesink river but I'm hoping that doesn't play into things. Still, we're prepped for serious flooding. If the power stays on, the sump pump and shop vac should keep us dry. If it goes out... that's gonna be a lot of buckets carried up the stairs.

I wish everybody on the east coast good luck. My grandparents are worried they are in Queens NY and there area tends to flood from lack of ample drainage. I asked my Grandma today why does she not move here and she said the same thing it is too hot during the summer.

Only a little rain and wind down here. Nothing serious yet.

I know everyone else has said this, but I wish everyone luck. I'm in Toronto so it shouldn't be too bad, but there will still be a ton of rain (shame that it has to be on Halloween!) and there's a possibility that we'll lose power. A few of my relatives will probably be affected by it, but hopefully everything will be okay!
