I survived Katrina, so I know what it feels like to have something like this bearing down on you. You're in my prayers guys.

I'm in VA Beach. It looks like the Outer Banks of NC are going to get the brunt of the storm before it veers sharply to the northeast. I'm expecting nor'easter-type weather at the worst.

    Weather.com says this

So looks like the "actual" hurricane won't hit but we will get effects from it. Tropical storm, eep. Might have to open the barn up for the horse.

This thread makes me laugh for some reason.

    Esp this,

As opposed to what? Moving to areas with Tornadoes, Mud slides, Forest Fires, Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Blizzards, massive flooding....do I really need to go on?

I know right. There was an earthquake in Canada this year, that people could feel and everything.

Here, ILD...you need a cookie to calm your nerves...ahhh, doesn't that feel better? :p  :D

Actually, I wouldn't mind just a little rain from the hurricane... we've been like a :tumbleweed:  ever since the May floods hit TN...geez, can't catch a break this year.

Yeah, I live in a land-locked state nowhere near the ocean, so I'm definitely not in the path.

Thinking of those in the path; I hope the damage isn't too severe. Stay safe.

I have no idea if I'm safe or not, but somehow I think that even if the hurricane does hit me, I won't be able to tell the difference. :lol

I think you're safe Sage, Buffalo is on the very far left-side of New York. I don't think it will go that far inland, and hurricanes tend to weaken when they travel upwards where the climate temperature drops. It's not going to be much different then the tropical storms we've had over the years. But man I'm hoping for a Tornado!

It's on my "Things to do before I die" list :lol  always wanted to see a Tornado in person.

Climate temperature drops is an understatement.

I'm close, but it looks like my area will be getting the light side of it.

So now it's only going to hammer southern and western New Scotland. We only get a tropical storm warning.

Thankfully its not teh Suck that Hurricane Isabel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia was, but since we haven't received a whole lot of rainfall here lately in NH I'm more worried about the trees coming down. That was the worst when Isabel hit; listening to all the trees fall.
