Right now it's expected to hit North Carolina and move up the coast. They're even saying that as it hits RI/MA, it'll turn left and slam in to the coast at a level 2 hurricane. Are you safe? Do you have evacuation plans?
I have a bag of cu-tips. And a plane like Homer Simpson, when he made his ear burn by lighting a cu-tip on fire.
I live in Rhode Island I think I'll manage. My high school's staff is actually considering cancelling school if it hits us on Friday. That will be a first for us over here. The Walgreens I work at is definitely going to get flooded for sure, we had a heavy shower that lasted only ten minutes or so and in the first minute there was two feet of water in the parking lot and water was rushing in through the doors. I had to barricade the doors with bales of cardboard boxes and trash to keep the water out and wouldn't ya know PEOPLE WERE STILL WALKING IN. Other than that, my house is like 150 years old and has survived multiple hurricanes, we still have plenty of supplies if anything goes wrong and our house is at the top of a hill so we're not going to get flooded.
This is one funny looking Hurricane. I live far enough inland that I won't actually be near the hurricane. Which I'm thankful for.
Well I just started my sophomore year of college. Guess where I'm going? Fitchburg State University in Mass. I'm just more curious as to whether I'll get to work on Saturday (I work at an amusement park).
I certainly hope I'm not in the path. That's gonna be a lot of wax with how big this hurricane is. But I'm in far enough inland in the Southwest to avoid any hurricane activity. Well, there was that time in 2008 with Ike. But I'm safe. Be careful, GodziBoy, and any fellow members in the path of this thing. I hate the excitement I shouldn't be getting from an ongoing storm crisis like this.
For once a hurricane not coming after us in Texas, but still bad one's going anywhere at all. I hope you guys are safe and the next 2 or so months (of hurricane season) actually turn up nothing huge.
For one a hurricane to coming after us in FL, sorry Repainted, I think we have it worst off than you Texans. I hope everyone that lies in the path makes it through ok.
Thanks for your concern I'll be fine though, we've dealt with hurricanes before up here and rarely do they ever get bad enough to knock out the power. I too wish everyone else out there in the path of this force of nature good luck.
Well, sorry to forget Florida, I'm almost surprised at times it hasn't broken off and drifted away from the mainland after all the hurricane hits. Where I am we've had 3 hurricane hits in the last 5 years and like almost none in the previous 15.
It's kinda up in the air as to what the hurricane is gonna do with DE, but at the very least it's gonna storm like crazy tomorrow.
I can't imagine how it is to live where there are hurricanes. There are often reports on TV of America showing what happens and all the disaster. I wonder why people don't move to an area where there are no hurricanes? It must be really devastating in any way to have your home destroyed by a hurricane.
I'm also in it's path. However NS usually only gets tropical storms. But in 2003 Juan blew through Halifax as a category 2.
Luckily the coast cuts inland where I am so the hurricane is going to miss us completely. As far as weather.com goes it's sunny for the next 10 days here. We could use the rain but I'd rather not deal with the wind.
I have an uncle in Virgina beach Virgina so he could possibly be affect to some degree. otherwise unless it ends up in Minnesota I'm safe.
