ARG!! If it weren't for those super tiny hands of his, I'd buy this as the mods make him look SO MUCH BETTER!!   Now I'm kinda sad that I returned him after messing around with him a little.

 

Just managed to get the back kibble to hold, it's by no means secure, and will fall apart if any force is applied to the figure. HOWEVER, it makes the figure look fantastic. I'm now thinking about adding some detail to him. Does anyone now how well paint'll want to bond to the soft swords?

 

acrylics should adhere to those swords pretty well.

 

Just did it - much much MUCH better. He's not an embarrassment to the shelf anymore with that stupid cape of car parts.

 

Honestly, if you go to a few stores like Ross, Marshalls, or TJ Maxx, you may be able to score one for around $13-20.

owned sideswipe, hated the backpack, sold it, bought it again for 20 at marshalls and tried this mod.

makes a huge difference now. while i was doing it i did a few different things for a little more movement.

I removed the whole middle of the dash board. here if you wanted to unscrew and remove the hood, you ran now flip the dash around now and it will place the steering wheel on the right and allow for the tail light guns be on top now, but it does not look as good as the standard transformation, didnt take any pics of that. but here it is removed.


I also removed the peg on the long brown part and the spot it goes into. this allows for it to go up even higher. i also shaved down the the little pieces sticking up on the long brown part as well so it will allow for it to move up closer.

well did the Mod to my HA Sideswipe, and it is a MUCH better improvement to what it was (going to look for more ways to bring it closer tho) that and playing with the idea of an LED mod (head, headlights and tail lights) But GREAT Tutorial Superquad7 Thank You!!

 

Just performed the backpack mod on HA Sideswipe. Liking the mold x10 more as a result.

I didn't shave off the entire peg-into-hole assembly in the back just yet so the kibble doesn't fold up any higher than as shown, but still a great improvement. The front bumper even more or less clips into place into the back of the waist (not the most secure thing in the world but it does make a "click" when it settles into place).

I did your mod awhile back. Thanks.

I snipped the (useless) square female peg on his back then snipped the corresponding male peg that plugs in it. Pushed the his torso about an inch higher to make him taller and even more sleeker looking. Completely removed those annoying (and useless undercarriage wing plugs).

 

I did this mod too over the weekend. Got the figure in the mail, opened it and had the mod done in under 30 minutes. Amazing difference it makes.

Has anyone made any sort of modification to the doors so they don't stick straight up?

Looking for some ideas on how to take the doors and flip them so they're hanging over the edge of the wheel wells like you see him in Rise of the Fallen
