Saw this guy the other day and passed. $50 is just too much.

$50?? Sorry to hear that! Is this American dollars? I've never seen him (or any HA figure) priced over $35.

Each hip has two very very easy to see (in person) pieces of plastic that prevent them from moving up all the way. They're squarish, and just there for looks.

If you have him in hand, you won't have any trouble seeing the pieces.

Take a pair of flush cutters, snip snip. Suddenly his legs can spread a little more, which brings his rotator joint up from an angled / to |.

If you know anything about action figures, it's the difference between a V crotch and a T crotch.

And again, if you've got him in hand it's really easy to see which parts are needed cut. Two seconds with flush cutters and he's good to go. No need for dremils or even taking him apart.

(Though if you want to give him waist articulation, take the hips apart and use those flush cutters to snip the notch of plastic keeping his waist from moving.)

That's the Canadian retail price for HA figures.

We also pay $60 for Leaders. But that's a titch easier to swallow.

Here's an image for you, Lumpy!

I've colored the part you need to cut off in red. Snip it with some flush cutters and your Barricade will be a bit shorter but much more mobile.

And Philister, if you want to use this image on your site for the review, feel free. Keep up the great reviews!

Though I didn't come up with the mod, so please give credit if you can find who did. (I know a couple of people mentioned it on here or in the radicons.)

I was lucky enough to find mine at Wal-Mart for $40. Not a big saving, but it is something. I agree though, these dudes are a tad over priced. I think $34.99 would be fair. HA Barricade is the best out of the bunch IMO, mind you I do really like Skids and Mudflap is slowly growing on me.

Dont do this with a flush cutter! the plastic could split and break in a half!

try a dremel or a hot xactoknife for that!

What kind of flush cutter are you using? o_0

I use them for quite a few of my mods and have yet to have any kind of issues like that.

Although, if you're using dull cutters or squeezing really slowly it might cause issues. The excess plastic (and the warping force) should be pushed easily and safely away from the flush edge.

So did this happen to you? Odd, but no less crappy if it did. :/

(Not trying to derail to thread or anything. Part of my shtick is to help encourage inexperienced modders and dremels can be a scary thing, not to mention [for a mod like this] overkill.)

He looks to be better than Skids, as good as bumblebee, and probably not as good as Jazz. He's perfect.

Received a 20% off TRU coupon last week so I picked up my HA Barricade in store. Very impressive toy w/ a lot of play value. The gimmicks match nicely to the movie footage, the interaction between Frenzy and Barricade might be the best execution of 'Human Alliance'. Also It's very nice to see Cons made to the HA line.

Definitely - he is the definitive Barricade figure!
I'd finally accepted the DLX mold was the closest we were ever going to get & then I saw pics of this guy.

I had to get him when I saw that pic - PLUS he's the only HA figure to have no real backpack & no kibble in bot mode.

Granted, Barricade did have some massive arms in the movie, so it's not easy to dissolve all that kibble, but it works really well in this figure!

I don't get how you can pass up this figure if you like Barricade. I mean geez, even if you hate the general HA gimmick, it's screen accurate in this case! Just think of it as Voyager class Barricade. (It's even a better scale with its driver than the other HAs.)

I mean yes, it would be nice if it had two hands and was more posable, but there is absolutely no comparison between it and the Deluxe. None.

The only reason I've passed it up is because both he and Mudflap never showed their faces anywhere in my area! I saw Barricade once, but I didn't have enough to snag him then. I still have yet to even see Mudflap.

I'm rewatching the first movie right now and you can very definitively see how accurate HA Barricade really is. If you haven't picked this figure up yet and you are a fan of the movies, then I highly recommend you pick this guy up. jazz may be the best of the HA line, but Barricade is a very close second. On top of that, Frenzy is a really cool companion figure.

Go get him or order him if you haven't gotten him already.
