Aw man that's a bummer. :(  I hope the next one who takes her place will help keep the Hub afloat.

To anyone who watches the Hub, it is readily apparent they are not doing well. Most of the advertising is for the Hub itself, or obscrure products. Means advertisers aren't buying into it. I'm sure Hasbro will try to buy it time - takes time for stations to take hold. But so far it is not performing at all.

I hope the Hub will find a way to survive. I don't want to see it die along with it's shows like MLP for example.

What exactly have they been doing there to earn their damn pay anyway.?

Hub has all the potential in the world to be everything that CN & Disney XD is not and what do we get..?

I forgot we still even had that channel.

He's saying that he's scared that some other station like Nick would buy Hasbro's shows and ruin them. I'm actually more worried about CN buying them after what we've learned about their "Thoughts" on girls watching boys shows.

    When did we learn this?

I'm surprised the HUB is still going, considering a majority of their programming was/is just reruns of older cartoon and live-action series.

About other stations wanting to buy Hasbro's shows? There's actually no word about that it's just me fearing some terrible fate for shows like MLP on the Hub if it goes down.

    "Misogynistic Marketing"

Well, it does sound that way. But then again, little kids have drastically different tastes. Boys are more likely to enjoy action packed superhero cartoons while girls are more likely to enjoy shows like MLP, Barbie, and other stuff like that. Nothing misogynistic about it.
Sure, there are those little boys and girls who end up liking the complete opposite, but they're the minority. Companies want to appeal the the majority. If that's not happening, of course they're gonna be inclined to cancel a show.

The Hub has gone down hill either way.
The cancellation of TFP, the over-milking of MLP, the cancelllation of every other good/well-recieved show (Dan vs, pound puppies,G.I. Joe The Aquabats, etc) all ruined the Hub for me. Hopefully the new person will lift the channel from the crap-fest its in.

Fuck you Cartoon Network, You can't have MLP or Transformers!

Plus... I think it's for the best MLP stays on a Hasbro owned channel,
Because while the franchise may remain in Hasbro's care.... I just worry what might happen..

It wasn't cancelled. It ended. Cancelled shows don't get sequels or continuations. A lot of people though Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes was cancelled. It wasn't. It ended and got a sequel in the form of Avengers Assemble.
Transformers Animated: Cancelled. Green Lantern TAS: Cancelled. Thundercats: Cancelled.
    5 seasons. Holy shit.

Running a network is difficult, ask Oprah!

Honestly, I'm not Hasbro but I'll pretend to be. Why not adopt the Netflix model? Hasbro shows exclusively on Netflix. The purpose of cartoons is still to sell a product. Why not make it available to a broader audience?

For example, me. Like many people, I cut the cord years ago! It's not that I can't afford it but at $120 dollars, I just don't see the value.

The Hub should find a way to move to being part of the barebones cable packages. So many people are dumping cable in favor of Hulu or Netflix and maaaaaybe keeping cable for just the networks. Our package is literally just the main guys (FOX, CBS, ABC, NBC, CW, PBS and then MeTV, TruTV, WGN, ION & Discovery...adding The Hub to the lineup would at least give more people access to the chanel

It is misogynistic though, and to enforce it is the worse thing Yeah, corporations want to appeal to the majority, but they also want to control what that majority is. They don't want people thinking differently in regards to what they think they want because then it's harder to market to them. The whole "Boys like explosions and girls like Rainbows" thing itself is something based on patriarchy and the views of others.

There are plenty of girls who like explosions and whatnot, and there'd likely be boys who liked the opposite if they weren't shamed for it, ala, the kid who /tried to kill himself because his school was making fun of him for liking My Little Pony./ This is a complicated issue, but misogynistic practices and the like as well as shaming kids for what they enjoy does not help things at all. Let your child like what they like, don't penalize them for it or try to course correct. They don't need to be course corrected, let them be who they want to be, not what you want them to be(Unless of course, they're going down a dark path where they might hurt themself or others.).
